The action in Seeing in the Dark, Arielle's Story takes place from
the mid-1960's through the 1990's and is set in suburban New Jersey
and New York. Arielle, attractive and intelligent, is a woman who
achieves in the challenging profession of electrical engineering,
yet struggles to succeed as wife and mother amid the demands of
work and the mercurial upheavals in her home life. Tensions build
between her polarized worlds of work and home involving her
husband's temperament and her children's dangerous choices. As
Arielle navigates the rapid flow of change in three tumultuous
decades she is, in essence, a quiet revolutionary, changing other
women's lives forever because her problems are not hers alone, but
those of ordinary and extraordinary women everywhere who strive for
a vital and meaningful life. Judith Peck is a sculptor, author and
professor of art at Ramapo College of New Jersey in Mahwah, New
Jersey. Her sculpture has been exhibited internationally and is in
over eighty public and private collections. Images of her sculpture
