Just prior to the celebration of Milton Ross' 100th birthday, he
attended a poetry writing class at the retirement park where he and
his wife Ann reside. For one of his first assignments he wrote his
"Thoughts on Being 100 Years Old" and at his birthday party read
this aloud The reception was so enthusiastic that Milton was
spurred on to continue writing. This resulted in a remarkable 2
years of creating poems about his family and friends, nature, and
many major events throughout his long and fulfilling life. Even
today as he turns 102, Milton looks and acts like a man many years
younger. He continues his daily routine of an hour of exercises and
stretching in the morning and twice daily pulls on his rowing
machine of 100 strokes each. At the dinner table he continues to
quote Chaucer and Shakespeare and remembers an incredible volume of
family, social and political history. His hope is that you will
enjoy the fruits of this labors and learn about his life and times
and the long history that this collection provides.
