Written in the style of a Japanese fairy tale, this book deals with
the problems of coping with being different than others. A tiny
infant, Okee-chan, is adopted by an elderly couple. His body growth
can't be stopped. He grows larger each day. While he enjoys periods
of happiness, there are times of suffering and woe due to his being
so unlike other persons. He must learn to ciope with these as he
continues to increase in size until and even after he becomes a
giant. All of us know of persons suffering from being unusual
whether too fat or too thin, having skin coloring or body shapes
different from others. Okee-chan must face the taunts of others his
size and many other difficulties The tale tells how he coped with
such a life. It is hoped that it will help others suffering from
similar problems.
