As a result of the Internet, new forms of selling and distributing
music have developed that are increasingly replacing the
traditional distribution channels. This development is a challenge
not only to the music industry but to collecting societies as well.
The cooperation between national and international collecting
societies is constantly being tested by the growing significance of
the Internet. This work examines the development and critically
analyzes the past decisions and legal acts taken on the European
level.
