As well as featuring full-page examples of their best work, Lettering: Tips for Creation is divided into two parts; in the first half each artist has selected examples of their work and discussed their influences and early career, while in the second half each of them provides a new piece of work, talking us through the creative and production process, step by step, from the initial idea and sketch, explaining how the dimensions were worked out and the letters combined to ultimately form a harmonious message.
Whether adventure, comedy, action, or fantasy, the films of the 80s (late 70s and early 90s included) are simply magical. It doesn't matter if some have aged better than others, films like The Goonies, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Rocky, etc. were created not only for financial gain, but also with tremendous passion, conveying a mystique that is difficult to describe, and which only those who lived through that period can fully appreciate. When We Were Young does not include all of them (that would be impossible), but it does offer a carefully chosen and representative selection. And if you were terrified by the Gremlins, if you learned from Mr. Miyagi, if you cried when little Elliot said goodbye to E.T. or when Thelma & Louise started flying in their convertible, we invite you to embark on this nostalgic tour of superb illustrations and alternative posters by world-class artists, accompanied by curiosities and legendary quotes from the best movies of a wonderful era.
Since the mid-1980s, the development of competitive strategies based on intensive innovation has deeply transformed the design of new products and services. Much has been written about new methods and organizations that are likely to develop economically competitive and creative capacities in companies. But much less has been written about transformation of work and identity of professionals involved in these transitions : engineers, industrial designers, researchers, professionals in marketing strategy and especially project managers. The work of "innovation professionals" is truly difficult to observe because of its very nature (intangible work done over a long period of time), its inaccessibility, and its status. The purpose of this book is to put forward a number of keys for understanding the ongoing dynamics for working professionals in the field of innovation. Examining reorganizations in both large-scale firms and start-ups, the authors explore diverse sectors such as hi-tech, consumer goods and equipment, chemistry, aeronautics as well as upstream companies working for subsidiaries and traditional small-scale production such. The result is to show a world of networks where a large-scale firm undertakes research in partnership with a start-up, develops its products with independent designers and involves upstream suppliers in its developments. Also analyzed are the industrial strategies, the organizational conditions of product conception, and the dynamics of the professional identities of the actors who are at the core of these transformations. This impressive and unique volume will be of interest to all those interested in innovation studies, new technology policy and management as well as engineers and designers themselves.

A psychopathic genius with a sadistic and twisted humour. A lover of weapons to which he always gives a comic touch; his jack-in-the-boxes and cigarette shaped explosives are a classic in his craziest plans with deadly results. Joker has had countless scriptwriters and cartoonists who have shaped his personality and appearance. Much of the fame achieved by this villain comes from the actors who have played him on the big screen. Each actor who has given life to the character has taken a different path, and each of them is remembered by the character's followers for different reasons. Without a doubt, thanks to them, the character is more popular than ever. Worthy of mention is the voice over in the animated series by the incomparable Mark Hamill, while on television he was brought to life by Cesar Romero (1966-1968), and in the cinema by Jack Nicholson (1989), Heath Ledger (2008), Jared Leto (2016), and finally the extraordinary Joaquin Phoenix (2019).

A-Frame constructions emerged in the mid-20th century and have been forgotten for decades. In recent years we are seeing how the spirit of A-Frame style houses is gradually being revived by avant-garde architects who have adapted this approach to more modern times. It is not uncommon nowadays to find examples of modern houses with A-Frame architecture as a hallmark in leading design magazines. This type of construction stands out for its structural simplicity, which in most cases reduces costs, and also for its great capacity for thermal and acoustic insulation, greater speed of construction, elimination of the need for columns, greater strength and structural consistency, among many other benefits. A-Frame homes have a better environmental impact due to energy savings in both construction and utility costs, not to mention a smaller carbon footprint for the environment.
Sustainable Architecture or Bio-construction. Living as close as possible to a green or natural area is highly recommended for mental health. Good architecture is considered to be that which blends in perfectly with the surrounding area. Nature can be integrated into architecture indirectly with environmentally friendly elements. There is the option of constructing buildings with vertical gardens that integrate this green habitat into the structure itself, whether it is a faç ade, roof, etc., and of including natural elements inside the building. When architecture is in tune with the location, it seeks to respect the landscape, limiting the footprint of its intervention, camouflaging its presence or building with local materials. Indeed, today's buildings and cities endeavor to be respectful of their surroundings, uniting the environment with architecture. In some cases, this union goes beyond respecting the natural beauty that surrounds them and the intention is to establish a dialogue and consider the space as just another architectural element. This practice seeks to transform mechanisms of conventional architecture using materials focused on sustainability.
