Self-Organization and Green Applications in Cognitive Radio Networks (Hardcover, New): Anwer Al-Dulaimi, John Cosmas, Abbas... Self-Organization and Green Applications in Cognitive Radio Networks (Hardcover, New)
Anwer Al-Dulaimi, John Cosmas, Abbas Mohammed
R5,229 Discovery Miles 52 290 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

In order to keep larger sized cognitive networks in operation, it is necessary to have a variety of cognitive radio developments. In turn, it is important to generate organisational levels for service delivery to ensure dependable communication. Current research has helped make strides in creating and regulating the most efficient cognitive network topology which can be used in future green communications. Self-Organization and Green Applications in Cognitive Radio Networks provides recent research on the developments of efficient cognitive network topology. The most current procedures and results are presented to demonstrate how developments in this area can reduce complications, confusion, and even costs. The book also identifies future challenges that are predicted to arrive in the Cognitive Radio Network along with potential solutions. This innovative publication is unique because it suggests green, energy efficient and cost efficient resolutions to the inevitable challenges in the network.

The Nile Hydroclimatology: Impact of the Sudd Wetland (Paperback): Yasis Abbas Mohamed The Nile Hydroclimatology: Impact of the Sudd Wetland (Paperback)
Yasis Abbas Mohamed
R1,617 Discovery Miles 16 170 Ships in 12 - 19 working days

Hydroclimatology has emerged as a new discipline in line with increasing awareness of the connected nature of land-surface-atmosphere processes. Changes in landuse affect the atmospheric moisture conditions, not only locally but also at a continental scale. Similarly, climate change influences river basin hydrology and water resources. A good understanding of the atmospheric contribution to the regional water cycle is important for sound (integrated) water resources planning and management at river basin scale. The Nile Basin is characterized by increasing water demands in the downstream areas and high evaporation from the Upper Nile swamps. This has led to the planning and construction of river short-cut channels to intercept the water feeding the wetlands. Despite the importance of the wetlands to the local environment, and, it is thought, as a supplier of additional Nile water, its exact hydrology and its interaction with the climate is largely unknown. This study aims at a better understanding of the Sudd hydrology in relation to the regional hydroclimatology. The impact of the Sudd wetland on the Nile hydroclimatology has been studied by comparing two regional climate model scenarios: the present climatology, and a drained Sudd scenario. Remote sensing techniques have been utilized intensively to derive evaporation and related biophysical properties over the wetlands. The derived results from this study may also serve as boundary conditions for related impact assessment models.

Development of Adaptive Speed Observers for Induction Machine System Stabilization (Paperback, 1st ed. 2020): Ahmed A. Zaki... Development of Adaptive Speed Observers for Induction Machine System Stabilization (Paperback, 1st ed. 2020)

This book describes the development of an adaptive state observer using a mathematical model to achieve high performance for sensorless induction motor drives. This involves first deriving an expression for a modified gain rotor flux observer with a parameter adaptive scheme to estimate the motor speed accurately and improve the stability and performance of sensorless vector-controlled induction motor drives. This scheme is then applied to the controls of a photovoltaic-motor water-pumping system, which results in improved dynamic performance under different operating conditions. The book also presents a robust speed controller design for a sensorless vector-controlled induction motor drive system based on H theory, which overcomes the problems of the classical controller.
