Diplomacy and the Independence of Bangladesh is unique in itself,
penned by a social scientist with extensive upbringing in studies
on diplomacy, strategic fields, peace research, modern history, and
international relations. A witness to the momentous events of
Bangladesh's struggle for emancipation, as they unfolded during
Pakistani rule in East Pakistan, the author also sets in conceptual
designs for objective appraisals of the farsighted statesmanship of
its founder, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, with added reflections on
shifting dimensions of diplomacy and their ramifications for
mankind's waning civilizational journey.
Advances in Oxygenated Fuels for Sustainable Development:
Feedstocks and Precursors for Catalysts Synthesis provides a
roadmap to the sustainable implementation of oxygenated fuels in
internal combustion engines through sustainable production, smart
distribution and effective utilization. Focusing on the
sustainability of feedstocks, the book assesses availability,
emissions impact and reduction potential, and biodiversity and land
utilization impact. Existing technologies and supply chains are
reviewed, and recommendations are provided on how to sustainably
implement or update these technologies, including for rural
communities. Furthermore, effective supply and distribution network
designs are provided alongside methods for monitoring and assessing
their sustainability, accounting for social, economic,
environmental and ecological factors. This book guides readers
through every aspect of the production and commercialization of
sustainable oxygenated fuels for internal combustion engines and
their implementation across the global transport industry.
Bioenergy Resources and Technologies presents advanced approaches
and applications of bioenergy resources, with a strong focus on

bioenergy, the implementation of bioenergy as an alternative fuel,
and future energy security make this an invaluable and unique
resource to further advance the field. This book provides new
information and novel techniques across a variety of bioenergy
applications, with the book's authors addressing key uses for
bioenergy resources as an alternative fuel. Various case studies
and examples help demonstrate meaning and provide additional
clarity. Social and economic aspects are included for each
technology discussed, along with a number of research works and
their findings in a diverse mix of areas including energy,
environmental science, biotechnology, chemical engineering and
mechanical engineering. Researchers and professionals in these
disciplines will gain knowledge on the underlying concepts,
technologies, fuel applications and solutions to global
environmental issues using bioenergy resources.
Advanced Biofuels: Applications, Technologies, and Environmental
Sustainability presents recent developments and applications of
biofuels in the field of internal combustion engines, with a
primary focus on the recent approaches of biodiesel applications,
low emission alternative fuels, and environmental sustainability.
Editors Dr. Azad and Dr. Rasul, along with their team of expert
contributors, combine a collection of extensive experimental
investigations on engine performance and emissions and combustion
phenomena using different types of oxygenated fuel with in-depth
research on fuel applications, an analysis of available
technologies and resources, energy efficiency improvement methods,
and applications of oxygenated fuel for the sustainable
environment. Academics, researchers, engineers and technologists
will develop a greater understanding of the relevant concepts and
solutions to the global issues related to achieving alternative
energy application for future energy security, as well as
environmental sustainability in medium and large-scale industries.
Advances in Eco-fuels for Sustainable Environment presents the most
recent developments in the field of environmentally friendly
eco-fuels. Dr. Kalad Azad and his team of contributors analyze the
latest bio-energy technologies and emission control strategies,
while also considering other important factors, such as
environmental sustainability and energy efficiency improvement.
Coverage includes biofuel extraction and conversion technologies,
the implementation of biotechnologies and system improvement
methods in the process industries. This book will help readers
develop a deeper understanding of the relevant concepts and
solutions to global sustainability issues with the goal of
achieving cleaner, more efficient energy. Energy industry
practitioners, energy policymakers and government organizations,
renewables researchers and academics will find this book extremely
useful.
Clean Energy for Sustainable Development: Comparisons and Contrasts
of New Approaches presents information on the fundamental challenge
that the energy sector faces with regard to meeting the ever
growing demand for sustainable, efficient, and cleaner energy. The
book compares recent developments in the field of energy
technology, clean and low emission energy, and energy efficiency
and environmental sustainability for industry and academia. Rasul,
Azad and Sharma, along with their team of expert contributors,
provide high-end research findings on relevant industry themes,
including clean and sustainable energy sources and technologies,
renewable energy technologies and their applications, biomass and
biofuels for sustainable environment, energy system and efficiency
improvement, solar thermal applications, and the environmental
impacts of sustainable energy systems. This book uses global
institutes and case studies to explore and analyze technological
advancements alongside practical applications. This approach helps
readers to develop and affirm a better understanding of the
relevant concepts and solutions necessary to achieve clean energy
and sustainable development in both medium and large-scale
industries.
Following successive international legal verdicts, Bangladesh is
now an accredited maritime state. Possessing a spacious territorial
sea and an extended continental shelf, with a maritime zone almost
equalling its land borders, a 'window of opportunity' has opened
for the country to realise its developmental aspirations. Yet, it
faces numerous challenges, many of which are entwined. This book is
a detailed analysis of Bangladesh's maritime strategy. It charts
the country's maritime legacies, including disputes with both
Myanmar and India and analyses the contributions of the leadership
in the maritime territorial gains. The author examines Bangladesh's
need to consolidate these newly reclaimed gains, whilst exploring
the unremitting interest of major global power players in
maintaining maritime resource exploitation, navigation and
security. Finally, the author demonstrates how the country needs to
embrace the notional principles of sustainable development of its
ocean economy to utilize its resources and how it has since been
coming to grips with the emerging concept of "blue economy" to
enhance its enduring national development. The first systematic
study on Bangladesh's maritime policy and the country's importance
in the emerging geopolitical rivalry in the Indian Ocean, this book
will be of interest to academics in the field of South Asian and
Indian Ocean politics.
Cotton is one of the most important fiber and cash crops throughout
the world, and it plays a dominant role in the industrial and
agricultural economies of many countries. Here is a rich resource
of information on the cultivation and production of cotton. This
volume provides an overview of the origin and evolution of cotton
and its physiological basis and characterization, and goes on to
discuss methods of cultivation, biotic stresses, and harvesting and
postharvest technology. The volume addresses new advances in
research for best cultivation methods, effective utilization of
resources, and operations for achieving higher yields, thus
achieving higher productivity. The authors take an
interdisciplinary approach, providing valuable information
necessary to increase cotton productivity to meet the world's
growing demands.

The principle purpose of the present study was to investigate in
vitro complex formation and to study the nature and strength of
complexes which could be formed due to interaction of Metformin or
Pioglitazone with Naproxen and Ibuprofen. Metformin and
Pioglitazone are anti-diabetic drugs; Metformin is the first-line
drug of choice for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, particularly
in overweight and obese people and those with normal kidney
function. Pioglitazone is an anti-diabetic drug
(thiazolidinedione-type, also called "glitazones") used along with
a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in
patients with type 2 diabetes (noninsulin- dependent diabetes). It
works by helping to restore your body's proper response to insulin,
thereby lowering your blood sugar. On the other side, Naproxen and
Ibuprofen, both are NSAIDs, commonly used for the reduction of
pain, fever, inflammation and stiffness caused by conditions such
as osteoarthritis, kidney stones, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic
arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, menstrual cramps,
tendinitis, bursitis, and the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. It
works by inhibiting both the COX-1 and COX-2 enzyme
