Guillaume de Machaut was the foremost poet-composer of his time. Studies look at all aspects of his prodigious output. Guillaume de Machaut (1300-1377) is regarded as the greatest French poet-composer of the middle ages, as he was during his lifetime. A trained secretary, with a passion for collecting, copying and ordering his own work, the numberof surviving notated musical works attributed to him far exceeds that of any of his contemporaries. All the main genres of song - lais, virelais, balades, and rondeaux - together with Machaut's motets, and his famous Masscycle are considered here from a variety of perspectives. These incorporate the latest scholarly understanding of both Machaut's poetry and music, and the material form they take when notated in the surviving manuscripts. The bookthus presents a detailed picture of the current range of interpretative approaches to Machaut's music, focusing variously on counterpoint, musica ficta, text setting, musico-poetic meanings, citation and intertextuality, tonality, and compositional method. Several of Machaut's works are discussed by a pair of contributors, who reach conclusions at times mutually reinforcing or complementary, at times contradictory and mutually exclusive. Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmoniker Bremen perform all four Schumann Symphonies at Pier 2, a former dockyard in Bremen harbour that is usually the site of rock and pop concerts. The featured works are: Symphony No. 1, Op. 38; Symphony No. 2, Op. 61; Symphony No. 3, Op. 97; and Symphony No. 4, Op. 120. The set also includes a documentary explaining the idea behind the project, as well as rehearsal footage and comments from Paavo Järvi about the symphonies and the interpretation.

To enable the author to provide an evaluation of Adidas' marketing strategies, the present importance of marketing and modern challenges of advertising decisions were determined as fundamentals of a global brand based on review of relevant literature. Furthermore, an investigation of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) related to companies in the sports industry was conducted. Moreover the benefits of a global brand were illustrated. This examination was mainly based on marketing specialised literature linked with selected examples of Adidas as no representative of the Adidas company was found to be interviewed. On the one hand it was found that Adidas' historically grown passion for sports in order to provide athletes with the best possible equipment positively contributes to improve brand awarness and brand image. On the other, it was found that the identified weaknesses reduce the effectiveness of global operations in order to improve consumer satisfaction throughout the world. The research concluded that although the strategic marketing operations of the Adidas company can be reduced by weaknesses and threats, the advertising decisions represent a promising source of enhancing the brand image.

Eine im Jahr 1997 veroffentlichte Studie zeigt, dass deutsche Unternehmen zu 52,4% DCF-Verfahren und zu 21,4% die Ertragswertmethode fur die Unternehmensbewertung verwenden. Vor allem international tatige Unternehmen verwenden die DCF-Verfahren und haben damit die Unternehmensbewertung in eine neue Richtung gefuhrt. Diese Zahlen zeigen, dass DCF-Verfahren als state of the art gelten und dies nicht zuletzt auf Grund des durchschlagenden Erfolgs in der Praxis. Das WACC-Verfahren, als eine Spielart der DCF-Verfahren, wird am haufigsten zur Unternehmensbewertung herangezogen. Die Ermittlung des Unternehmenswerts setzt die Kenntnis der kunftigen Marktwertverhaltnisse zwischen den einbezogenen Finanzierungsquellen voraus. Wahrend die Ermittlung des Marktwerts des verzinslichen Fremdkapitals in der Regel keine Probleme bereitet, ergibt sich fur die Ermittlung des Marktwerts des Eigenkapitals ein Zirkularitatsproblem, da dieser erst nach der eigentlichen Unternehmensbewertung ermittelt werden kann. Fur die Losung des Zirkularitatsproblems im Rahmen des WACC-Verfahrens werden nun in der Theorie zwei Losungswege angeboten: mathematische Iteration; marktgewichtete konstante Zielkapitalstruktur. In der Unternehmensbewertung wird die mathematische Iteration oft durch Naherungslosungen umgangen.
