Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.

A sextet of sceptic texts has been collected in Stoic Six Pack 4 -
The Sceptics: Pyrrhonic Sketches by Sextus Empiricus, Life of
Pyrrho by Diogenes Laertius, Sextus Empiricus and Greek Scepticism
by Mary Mills Patrick, The Greek Sceptics: from Pyrrho to Sextus by
Norman MacColl, Stoics and Sceptics by Edwyn Bevan and Life of
Carneades by Diogenes Laertius. A key concept for the sceptics was
ataraxia ("tranquility"), a Greek term used by Pyrrho to describe a
lucid state of robust tranquility, characterized by ongoing freedom
from distress and worry. By applying ideas of what he called
"practical skepticism" to Ethics and to life in general, Pyrrho
concluded that ataraxia could be achieved. Arriving at a state of
ataraxia became the ultimate goal of the early Skeptikoi.
'Stoic Six Pack 8 - The Peripatetics' includes Lyco of Troas by
Diogenes Laertius, The Aristotelian Sense of Proportion by William
De Witt Hyde, Strato of Lampsacus by Diogenes Laertius, Life of

It has been estimated that around 15% of global agricultural
production costs on-farm are energy-related. With heightened
concerns around the sustainability of crop and livestock
production, the agricultural sector must develop and invest in
alternative methods of farming that recoup the same results but
have a reduced environmental impact. Energy-smart farming:
Efficiency, renewable energy and sustainability reviews recent
research undertaken on the ways of reducing the costs and
environmental impact of on-farm energy use. The collection explores
advances in improving energy efficiency on farms, renewable energy
technologies such as agrivoltaics, biomass combustion, gasification
and pyrolysis, as well as how more sustainable energy use can be
delivered in practice in livestock production systems. Edited by a
leading expert in the field, Energy-smart farming: Efficiency,
renewable energy and sustainability will be a standard reference
for university and other researchers in renewable energy deployment
and policies, environmental scientists, government and other
agencies tackling the challenge of climate change, as well as
farmers and representatives from food manufacturers and suppliers
dedicated to reducing their carbon footprint.
This book will explore some of the main problems of existing in a
technologically advanced world that is built for ease and
efficiency while our bodies are built for stamina and endurance.
The book will further examine how this can negatively impact a
person's livelihood as well as work performance. It will then delve
into the important reasons for change in one's eating and
exercising habits and will provide tips and suggestions on how to
embrace this change and to be successful within a fast-paced
environment. This book is not the typical "90-day" or "quick and
easy" approach to fat loss. Instead, the focus will be centered on
longevity and consistency for one's personal fitness lifestyle.
