Corporate Governance in the US and Europe provides a comprehensive
and concise overview of the most recent developments in corporate
governance. It is based on a recent joint conference arranged by
New York University and the London School of Economics, which
brought together eminent academics and practitioners, including
Michael Jensen in Finance and Martin Lipton in Law, to discuss the
stock market boom-and-bust, and the recent corporate scandals. The
book is aimed at practitioners, policy makers and academics who
have to deal with corporate governance.
Cereals processing is one of the oldest and most important of all
food technologies. Written by a distinguished international team of
contributors, this collection reviews the range of cereal products
and the technologies used to produce them. It is designed for all
those involved in cereals processing, whether raw material
producers and refiners needing to match the needs of secondary
processors manufacturing the final product for the consumer, or
secondary processors benchmarking their operations against best
practice in their sector and across cereals processing as a whole.
The authorative guide to key technological developments within
cereal processingReviews the range of cereal products and the
technologies used to produce them

This exceptional collection of twenty-two essays on the philosophical fundamentals of tort law assembles many of the world's leading commentators on this particualrly fascinating conjunction of law and philosophy. The contributions range broadly, from inquiries into how tort law derives from Aristotle, Aquinas, and Kant to the latest rights-based and economic theories of legal reponsibility.
Do migrants lead to an increase of crime rates in their host
societies? This highly contentious issue has become a mainstay in
the political debate and a lightning rod for the galvanization of
populist movements, despite often lacking any empirical support. In
this game-changing book, the authors examine what the existing data
actually says, and provide their own novel evidence on the
immigration-crime connection. Taking the unusual approach of
analysing the subject from an economic perspective, the authors
build on the pioneering work of Nobel Prize winner Gary Becker to
construct their innovative arguments. By considering evidence from
different countries, with a focus on establishing causal
relationships, the authors are able to analyse not only if migrants
do cause crime but also whether migration policies can play a role
in shaping incentives for migrants to engage in crime. This book
will appeal to students and academics across the social sciences,
as well as citizens interested in this topical issue.

This collection of original essays on the theory of tort law brings together a number of the world's leading legal philosophers and tort scholars to examine the vital conjunctions of tort law and philosophy. This is a truly Anglo-American production, with five essays from the leading Oxford scholars and a dozen of the top American, Canadian and Israeli writers.
mathematischer Sicht VOllstandig behandeln.
