This book contains divine inspirations truly sent from God to me. I
feel so very humbled that God chose to give me encouragement in the
face of battles, a clear understanding of grace through faith, and
to know, without a doubt, He is the Lord, my Father God, who knows
all things within my heart. His promises are true in every sense. I
accept the gifts He has given and have faith in the promises He has
made, no matter what the storm. Let the words given me in this book
be an encouragement to anyone that may one day read its contents
and be a blessing as it helps others in their lives.
Traditionally, France has been viewed as host to a unique set of
tensions between the centre and the periphery, dating back to the
Revolution and beyond, which has shaped its structures of power and
marked its evolution as a modern society. This survey provides an
overview of those tensions between a centralising state and the
constituencies challenging it, and asks whether that model can
remain viable or whether it is not, in fact, undergoing a process
of profound change.
From his beginnings as a figure on the political stage, Nicolas
Sarkozy failed to conform to traditional expectations, either in
his personality or a political actions. Unlike previous Presidents
such Jacques Chirac or Francois Mitterrand, who underlined their
attachment to their rural origins, Sarkozy was the son of a
Hungarian immigrant who was brought up in a single-parent
household. In contrast to Presidents like Chirac and Valery Giscard
d'Estaing, who were archetypal products of the Ecole Nationale
d'Administration, or Georges Pompidou and Mitterrand who were
pressed from the classic intellectual mould of the French
university system, Sarkozy qualified modestly as a lawyer. It is no
surprise therefore that Sarkozy should have portrayed himself as
the man of 'rupture'. In this collection, a host of expert
contributors analyse and discuss the Presidency of Nicolas Sarkozy,
how he differed from his antecedents and the legacy that his tenure
had on French society and political structures. This volume is
perfect for anyone interested in contemporary French politics.
France and Britain are traditionally perceived as having divergent
attitudes to the issue of minority identities. In France the idea
that a person can be both a French citizen and have an ethnic or
religious identity is unacceptable, while in Britain community
cohesion promotes the combining of race or faith with the idea of
being British. This volume examines the problems posed by these
assumptions and the realities that are forcing them to be
revisited.
The demise of the French Communist Party (PCF) has been a recurrent
feature of overviews of the Left in France for the past two
decades, and yet the Communists survive. This study examines the
factors that undermined the position of the PCF as the premier
party of France, but also highlights the challenges that the party
faces in a society disillusioned with politics, and the new
strategies that it is developing in order to revive its
fortunes.
Sarkozy came to power promising radical political and social change
while simultaneously developing a presidential persona that melded
the public and the personal under the glare of media attention,
unparalleled in the French Fifth Republic. This volume provides a
detailed analysis of the fit between his ambitions and the outcomes
of his presidency

Janice Raymond offers a vision of female friendship that is as
exhilarating as it is controversial. In this feminist classic, she
explores the many manifestations of friendship between women
including the ancient Greek hetairai, the sisterhood of mediaeval
nuns and the marriage resisters of China. Thousands of women have
created their own communities and destinies through friendship. She
also examines the contemporary women's movement and its networks
and friendships -- as well as the forces operating against
friendship between women. A tough and clear-sighted analysis, and a
book to read again and again.
I'll make you a star. Everybody will want you. * * * People give
credence to Elvis selling ice cream in Ohio, or zombies pushing
north from Central America, yet they turn off their reality-meter
when it comes to psychotic sex perverts in their living rooms.
Bestiality, mutilation, rape, children; perverts pay to see. This
is the land of opportunity. One person's sickness is another
person's financial success. None of this was on my mind when I
answered the ad for Adult actors--no experience necessary.
