This book examines six major passages of scripture dealing with the
second coming within their context. Included in this is an overview
of the Book of Revelation. Most books on the subject bounce from
verse to verse making the study of end-time prophecy difficult to
follow. The subject of the second coming and the rapture has proven
to be confusing to many, but, by keeping the pasages in focus, the
reader can more easily follow what the Lord and the Apostles are
teaching. In this book, two primary teachings are dealt with: the
rapture and how it impacts the future role of Jewish people with
the Gospel of Christ. Understanding when the rapture occurs:
before, during, or after the Great Tribulation is crucial to our
undestanding of what God has planned for Israel in the coming
future. If we don't understand the timing of the rapture, we
absolutely cannot understand the future role of Israel in the
Kingdom of God. If we don't understand Israel, we cannot adequately
understand the Second Coming of Christ and its related events. Also
addressed in this book is the emerging Messianic movement within
Christianity; what role it will come to play in the gospel, and
what some of the issues are confronting the movement. J.L.
Hendricks has been a pastor for over forty-five years. He and his
wife Barbara have four married children and nine grandchildren who
are all actively involved in the Lord's work. Currently, pastor
Hendricks is director of Israel's Fullness, a ministry seeking to
take the gospel to both Jews and Gentiles. In 1990, he co-founded a
national Messianic fellowship. His efforts in taking the gospel to
Jewish people became the foundation for the writing of this book.
All the Bible is based on just three verses of scripture found in
Genesis 12:1-3. When one understands the role and content of these
verses, and follows how they develop in the scriptures, a
surprising simplicity is discovered in Gods Holy Word. Genesis
12:1-3 is the call of Abraham and Gods announcement of Christ and
world redemption. The plan of redemption involves three primary
promises: (1) a nation, (2) a land, and (3) a coming Blessing. From
the land and the nation will come the Blessing, who is Jesus. These
three promises become a simple outline that compresses the Bible
into a comprehensible format. In the New Testament, Paul holds up
Abraham as a model for how all people come to salvation. He
combines the call and promises made to Abraham, along with
Abraham's belief in that call recorded in Genesis 15:6, to make a
compelling case that justification is based on faith. J.L.
