Bibace, Dillon, and Dowds articulate diverse aspects of
partnerships, comparing them to traditional relationships between
professionals and patients, students, and research particpants.
Neither the editors nor the various contributors subscribe to one
interpretation of "partnerships." Instead they subscribe to the
assumption that there are multiple interpretations. These
differences are based on many factors such as a professional's
primary identity as clinician, teacher, or researcher. The
possibilities presented will aid readers in enacting partnership
relationships in their own settings.

Nematodes are small multicellular organisms that have been used as
biological models since the 1960s. For example, Caenorhabditis
elegans is a free-living nematode worm, about 1mm in length, that
lives in temperate soil environments. It is made up of about 1000
cells, and has a short life cycle of only two weeks. It was the
first multicellular organism to have its whole genome sequenced.
The book summarizes the importance of nematodes as model organisms
in the fields of genetics, developmental biology, neurobiology,
pharmacology, nutrition, ecology and parasitology. Of interest to a
broad audience across a wide spectrum of disciplines, this book is
useful for biologists working on comparative studies to investigate
biological processes across organisms; medical scientists and
pharmacologists for exploration of drugs and medicine (including
the use of genome editing to eliminate diseases); ecologists
considering nematodes as indicators for environment changes; and
parasitologists for host-parasite interactions. Many other
researchers can use this book as a benchmark for the broad
implications of nematology research on other aspects of science.

about the hairdressing industry in and out of the salon. Every
hairdresser has a story to tell although very few will put them in
to words and on to paper. The highs, lows, funny and not so funny
tales revolving around clients, staff and personal matters is what

This read as if spoken, true to life story follows the life of a
young boy leaving school and following his career in the
hairdressing industry. This story carries the reader through a
mixed emotional journey of greed, bullying, drugs, questioning
,belief and above all, bravery. From a rural town to the city
lights of London, hairdresser James Dillon shares his battles,
fears and emotions from losing faith in his celebrity idle and
mentor to experiencing the cost of good boss, bad boss fame along
with some provoking issues along the way. After years of torment,
training, studying and psychological tests James Dillon has
achieved what many will only ever dream of. For anyone entering the
hairdressing profession or already a hairstylist, salon owner,
manager or anything to associate with hairdressing then this book
is an "every hairdresser must read". The story indicates a moral,
one of which cannot be taught but a journey you may one day have to
take. When a hand shake or good luck would mean the world however
jealousy and destruction is the only thing on a celebrities mind.
Some say they can read people like books, well, this is my book,
read me, read everything, read others and most importantly...read
the small print.
A collection of poetry in five sections: Life & Death; Love
& Romance; Sonnets; Song Lyrics; and Stories. The author favors
metered rhyme, especially in the classical style, as opposed to
prose. They cover the full range of emotions and there is something
here for everyone.

Kevin never smiles at school, but he is different at home. He jumps
up and down when his favorite football team scores a touchdown, and
screams "CANNONBALL!" when he jumps into the swimming pool. But at
school he feels that he isn't 'okay.' Other kids in his class are
much quicker at putting their hands up and answering the teacher's
questions, and Kevin feels that he will never catch up. One day,
his reading teacher asks him to help out with the school store, and
Kevin slowly begins to realise that he had really been 'a okay' all
along. Through providing an insight into Kevin's thoughts, feelings
and coping strategies, this picture book for ages 5-8 is a source
of support for children who, like Kevin, find school difficult and
feel that they are 'behind' their peers. The book, which draws on
the author's experiences as the principal of an elementary school,
is also the perfect springboard for discussion around difficulties
at school, academic ability, self-esteem, confidence and
recognising strengths.
