"I recommend Dr. Kindred's book to anyone who has the desire to
gain a fuller, more tangible understanding of the words of Jesus
Christ. The author's very personal account of his own experiences
may give others a point of reference in their own lives." -Lou
Angora, Executive Producer, Morning Light Films
As I was going through a terrible trial in my life, I remembered
something that my mom had said to me when I was a teenager. She
said, "Read Matthew to live your life, read John to save your
soul."
That turned out to be the best advice I ever got
I started talking to other people, sharing this with them, and I
was amazed to find that so few knew what Jesus said. This led me to
write this book to tell everyone what Christ said about how to live
your life and how to save your soul. He gave us a "how to" guide.
His message is clear and concise and doesn't need a lot of
interpretation. He says what He means, and He means what He says.
It is pure truth
This is the story of my childhood and the three year I spent in the
foster system. Its only 58 pages but it has a lot of tragic
memories and that was only the beginning of a hard path I had to
take to get where I am today and I know its not over yet.
Sacred Earth Celebrations is the revised and updated version of
Glennie Kindred's bestselling, Sacred Celebrations. It is an
uplifting and inspiring source book for anyone seeking to celebrate
and honour the changing rhythms and seasons of the Earth and her
cycles. It explores the eight Celtic festivals, how they were
celebrated and understood in the past, the underlying changing
energy of the Earth, and the ways we may use this energy to create
meaningful celebrations for today to deepen our connection to the
Earth and our fellow human beings. Sacred Earth Celebrations
deepens our understanding of the five elements, the rhythms of the
Moon, Earth energies and sacred landscape, inner journeying and
meditation. She explores ways to create sacred space both inside
and outside, celebrations for children, crafts, the use of song and
dance, garden and land projects, building a sweat lodge and
labyrinths.
In this beautifully illustrated book, Glennie Kindred inspires us
to celebrate the bounties of our wild native plants and find a
richer relationship with the natural world around us. Season by
season, we are shown how to grow and manage native edible and
medicinal plants in our gardens or on the wild edges of the land.
Included are foraging tips and many recipes for making kitchen
medicines and delicious food from our finds. By letting the wild
native plants into our lives, Glennie helps us reconnect with our
rich herbal heritage and enter into a new relationship with our
local environment. She encourages us to forage, grow, and eat our
edible natives, season by season, and also to strengthen our health
with their healing properties. She explores many different ways to
mark and celebrate the seasons, especially outside on the land,
which support our ability to adapt and grow for the benefit of the
Earth and ourselves. This is a practical, optimistic and
inspirational treasure trove for a more creative, integrated,
self-reliant future.
In this book, outstanding political economists provide wide-ranging
and accessible essays on the global monetary system and its
interaction with dynamic and crisis-prone financial markets. The
essays are filled with fresh and well-articulated insights. This
timely survey of an increasingly important field deserves a
prominent place on the syllabi of graduate and advanced
undergraduate courses in international political economy, global
governance, and international finance.' - Louis W. Pauly,
University of Toronto, Canada'Here is an intellectual feast for
anyone interested in the political economy of international
monetary and financial systems, served up by an impressive
collection of experts. Students and specialists alike can gorge
themselves on the many fascinating analyses of core issues and
latest debates in the field. Highly recommended for anyone with an
appetite to learn more about global money and finance.' - Eric
Helleiner, University of Waterloo, Canada This extensive Handbook
provides an in-depth exploration of the political economy dynamics
associated with the international monetary and financial systems.
Leading experts offer a fresh take on research into the interaction
between system structure, the self-interest of private firms, the
political institutions within which governments make policy, and
the ideas that influence beliefs about appropriate policy
responses. Crucially they also assess how these factors have shaped
the political economy of various facets of monetary and financial
systems. Organized into four comprehensive sections, the Handbook
begins with a focus on the international system and explores how
the distribution of power in the system shapes its structure and
dynamics. The next section then considers the politics of exchange
rate regime choice before analyzing current research on financial
crises and financial regulation. Key questions are asked, such as:
what drives financial crises and why do some economies suffer
banking and currency crises while others do not? How does politics
shape the central characteristics of the IMF s approach to crisis
management? And how does change in the distribution of power in the
international system change the structure of the global monetary
and financial systems? The Handbook addresses these concerns and
concludes with an examination of international governance,
including the IMF and institutional reform in the post-crisis
eurozone. This detailed Handbook brings together original
contributions from some of the leading authorities in the field,
making it an invaluable resource to academics and students of
international relations, governance, and political economy.

In Walking with Trees, Glennie Kindred takes us on an intimate and
profoundly connecting walk with thirteen of our native trees. She
leads us into their worlds and opens our hearts to their wonders,
their qualities and their potential to heal. This is a book about
relationships and inter-relationships: Our relationship with the
trees, their relationships with each other and with the natural
world around them, and the flow of our communal relationship, past
and present, which affects us all as the web of life on Earth.
Illustrated with the authors exquisite pencil drawings, Glennie's
passion for trees is infectious, and inspires us to look more
closely, listen more intently and walk with trees more often. She
shares her stories and encounters with trees and weaves together
many ways to deepen our engagement with them, from growing them,
harvesting and using them for medicine, food, and craftwork. She
also encourages us to find our way into a more subtle and intuitive
relationship with the trees, as part of our journey to heal our
fractured relationship with the Earth. As with all of Glennie's
books, the seasonal cycles and the Earth festivals are interwoven
and provide further ways to deepen our journey with trees. This is
a book about possibilities, for those who care for our environment.
This is a book that reminds you of what you might have missed or
forgotten, and reminds you of your power. This is a book of our
time, where we recognise our deep interconnectivity with the trees,
with all of life and with the Earth herself. It inspires us to open
our arms and hearts wide, and joyfully embrace the changes.
The importance of protecting significant buildings from decay and
destruction would seem to be undeniable. Yet whilst the majority of
buildings of merit constructed before the Second World War have
been highlighted as worthy of protection there is much
indifference, and in some cases hostility towards many important
post-war buildings. These deserve to receive wider formal
recognition but in many cases continue to be mistreated or even
demolished. This book examines many of the philosophical and
practical issues surrounding the conservation of modern buildings
and also the problems faced by building practitioners in dealing
with buildings constructed in a wider range of styles and materials
than at any other time. Climate change in particular has forced
change in the way in which we think about buildings, with the
pressures to address issues of energy efficiency becoming more
urgent and likely to have consequences that may alter the perceived
architectural and historic interest of modern and traditional
buildings alike.

Jared Kindred left his home and family at the age of eighteen,
choosing to wander across America on freight train cars and live on
the street. Addicted to alcohol most of his short life, and
withholding the truth from many who loved him, he never found a way
to survive. Through this ordeal, Dave Kindred's love for his
grandson has never wavered. Leave Out the Tragic Parts is not
merely a reflection on love and addiction and loss. It is a
hard-won work of reportage, meticulously reconstructing the life
Jared chose for himself--a life that rejected the comforts of
civilization in favor of a chance to roam free. Kindred asks
painful but important questions about the lies we tell to get
along, and what binds families together or allows them to fracture.
Jared's story ended in tragedy, but the act of telling it is an act
of healing and redemption. This is an important book on how to love
your family, from a great writer who has lived its lessons.

a short, light-hearted guide to groupwork, providing an
easily-digestible way of understanding group dynamics, the
practicalities of running a group, and how to participate in one.
It covers how and where to set up a group, including the type of
room used, the size of the group and the arrangement of chairs, and
the importance of boundaries and rules within a group. It also
covers issues such as communication, sensitivity, listening,
leadership, decision-making, labelling and stereotyping, and forms
of participation, among many others. Each topic is illustrated with
a lively drawing to communicate the ideas presented. This second
edition also covers diversity throughout and how to apply the ideas
in the book to different settings. Based on research but written in
an instantly accessible style, this fun guide will be essential

Jared Kindred left his home and family at the age of eighteen,
choosing a life of riding train cars and making friends on the
street. He was an addict for most of his short life, drinking far
too much and lying about it; he was ultimately killed by an
overdose. Yet he inspired the deepest love of Dave Kindred's life.
Leave Out the Tragic Parts is not merely a reflection on love and
addiction and loss. It is a hard-won, and remarkably fair-minded,
account of the life Jared chose for himself and the colorful people
around him--people with names like Puzzles, Stray, and Booze Cop;
people with stories to tell. Kindred asks painful but important
questions about the lies we tell to get along, and what binds
families together or allows them to fracture. Jared's story ended
in tragedy, but the act of telling it is an act of healing and
redemption. This is an important book on how to love your family,
from a great writer who has lived its lessons.
This fascinating selection of photographs illustrates the
extraordinary transformation that has taken place in Ipswich during
the 20th century. The book offers an insight into the daily lives
and living conditions of local people and gives the reader glimpses
and details of familiar places during this century of unprecedented
change. Many aspects of Ipswich's recent history are covered,
famous occasions and individuals are remembered and the impact of
national and international events is witnessed. The book provides a
striking account of the changes that have so altered Ipswich's
appearance and records the process of transformation. Drawing on
detailed local knowledge of the community, and illustrated with a
wealth of black-and-white photographs, this book recalls what
Ipswich has lost in terms of buildings, traditions and ways of
life. It also acknowledges the regeneration that has taken place
and celebrates the character and energy of local people as they
move through the first years of this new century.
This beautiful and inspirational guidebook from Glennie Kindred
