Toby Welliver is a professional fan and expert on cult television,
as well as author of 12 little-read biographies about obscure TV
celebrities and host of the podcast ‘The First Cult is the
Deepest’. He’s also beginning to realise he was late to the
party, and the glory days he treasures are already history. Invited
to contribute to a ‘Then and Now’ documentary being filmed in
the same location as the show all those years ago, Toby gathers
with cast and crew from the show, all gathering for another
paycheck on their past triumphs. And as Toby enters a world of
hatchets far from buried, internecine warfare and virulent grudges
his research into the show uncovers the unexplained death of a
young woman during filming. Only 5 people were present at her
death, all of them with Toby. And there’s only 3 days of filming
left… Hell hath no fury like a nerd scorned - expect top-drawer
farce, dead pan gags and the finest puns known to mankind.
Captain Jim Agnihotri and his new bride, Diana Framji, return in
Nev March's Peril at the Exposition, the follow up to March's
award-winning, Edgar finalist debut, Murder in Old Bombay. 1893:
Newlyweds Captain Jim Agnihotri and Diana Framji are settling into
their new home in Boston, Massachusetts, having fled the strict
social rules of British Bombay. It's a different life than what
they left behind, but theirs is no ordinary marriage: Jim, now a
detective at the Dupree Agency, is teaching Diana the art of
deduction he's learned from his idol, Sherlock Holmes. Everyone is
talking about the preparations for the World's Fair in Chicago: the
grandeur, the speculation, the trickery. Captain Jim will
experience it first-hand: he's being sent to Chicago to investigate
the murder of a man named Thomas Grewe. As Jim probes the
underbelly of Chicago's docks, warehouses, and taverns, he
discovers deep social unrest and some deadly ambitions. When Jim
goes missing, young Diana must venture to Chicago's treacherous
streets to learn what happened. But who can she trust, when a
single misstep could mean disaster? Award-winning author Nev March
mesmerized readers with her Edgar finalist debut, Murder in Old
Bombay. Now, in Peril at the Exposition, she wields her craft
against the glittering landscape of the Gilded Age with spectacular
results.
Earth - a small, insignificant planet. Entirely devoid of
intelligent life. At least that's according to the legal documents.
The Doctor, Romana and K9 find themselves at the centre of a most
unusual trial. An intergalactic corporation wants to bulldoze the
planet for a development project. Only a previous court's
preservation document is standing in their way. The Doctor has been
summoned as an expert witness. If he can prove Earth contains
intelligent life, the whole world will be saved. But with a fortune
at stake... it was never going to be that simple. Cast: Tom Baker
(The Doctor), Lalla Ward (Romana), John Leeson (K9), Julian Wadham
(Judge Perigord Trent), Spencer Banks (Kovaks), Nicholas Briggs
(Foreman of the Lost Jury), Richard Laing (Skorpios/Lieson
Tilpractive-Frong/Geoff), Christopher Naylor (Villager), Paul
Panting (Smilax), Jane Slavin (Clerk), Jeany Spark
(Tragacanth/Cham’Yal). Other parts played by members of the cast.
Uncontrolled proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (SMC) in
response to vessel injury is a problem with a considerable
therapeutic impact. Specifically, restenosis after percutaneous
transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) is a clinical problem
without any effective drug therapy so far. Thus, there is need for
an improved drug therapy but also for an improved understanding of
the pathophysiology of growth control in SMC. Cyclooxygenase
products, such as prostaglandins and thromboxane, are intimately
involved in growth responses. Vasodilatory prostaglandins, such as
PGI, PGE or their analogues, have 2 1 been shown to inhibit SMC
proliferation. There is also evidence for a markedly increased
endogenous prostaglandin production during neointirna formation
under the influence of growth factors which includes induction of
COX-2. These data suggest that prostaglandins might be considered
both targets and tools of growth control. However, there are still
many open questions, including the possible interaction of
prostaglandins with other growth modulating factors, in particular
NO, the intracellular signal transduction pathways and the role of
oxidative stress."
In The Spanish Diplomat's Secret, award-winning author Nev March
explores the vivid nineteenth-century world of the transatlantic
voyage, one passenger's secret at a time. Captain Jim Agnihotri and
his wife Lady Diana Framji are embarking to England in the summer
of 1894. Jim is hopeful the cruise will help Diana open up to him.
Something is troubling her, and Jim is concerned. On their first
evening, Jim meets an intriguing Spaniard, a fellow soldier with
whom he finds an instant kinship. But within twenty-four hours, Don
Juan Nepomuceno is murdered, his body discovered shortly after he
asks rather urgently to see Jim. When the captain discovers that
Jim is an investigator, he pleads with Jim to find the killer
before they dock in Liverpool in six days, or there could be
international consequences. Aboard the beleaguered luxury liner are
a thousand suspects, but no witnesses to the locked-cabin crime.
Jim would prefer to keep Diana safely out of his investigation, but
he's doubled over, seasick. Plus, Jim knows Diana can navigate the
high society world of the ship's first-class passengers in ways he
cannot. Together, using the tricks gleaned from their favorite
fictional sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, Jim and Diana must learn why one
man's life came to a murderous end.

The successful FRCS Trauma and Orthopaedics Viva returns for a
second edition, now including over 95 viva topics. Completely
updated to include current clinical management guidelines, and exam
hot topics, the book is brought to you again from the team behind
the highly successful Oxford revision course. Based on the
principle that viva candidates improve their technique by observing
and learning from others, the editor team have created a
best-practice formula for dealing with the individual scenarios.
The book is set out in a simple format and every viva topic is
introduced by an initial clinical photograph, radiograph, or
diagram. Sets of questions follow underneath with the suggested
answers on the next page. This allows the reader to work in pairs,
groups, or on their own. Based on the Oxford revision course, this
book is already a tried and tested revision tool, making it ideal
preparation for the FRCS Trauma and Orthopaedics Viva exam.
Four new stories featuring the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown: 1.1 The
Headless Ones by James Parsons and Andrew Stirling-Brown. When a
distress call from an unknown source threatens to rip the TARDIS
from the vortex, the Doctor and Peri arrive in nineteenth-century
Africa hoping to find the cause of the disturbance. Instead, they
meet a British expedition searching for a long lost tribe: the
B’lemyae… better known to the locals as the Headless Ones. 1.2
Like by Jacqueline Rayner. On the Earth colony world Rusina, the
populace strive to be popular. Likes lead to promotions, dislikes
leads to demotion – and more recently, something worse. So when
the Doctor investigates the truth behind their subscriber-led
society, he finds himself about to become very unpopular indeed.
1.3 The Vanity Trap by Stuart Manning. Myrna Kendal used to be a
Hollywood film star. Now she spends her life reminiscing on chat
shows but there is always one unfinished film she refuses to talk
about... at least until the TARDIS interrupts a TV interview, and
the Doctor and Peri’s appearance stirs up long-forgotten
memories. 1.4 Conflict Theory by Nev Fountain. Concerned by the
Doctor’s increasing over-protectiveness, Peri presents him with
an ultimatum: either they seek counselling or she leaves the TARDIS

If there's anyone who knows about the darker side of online dating,
it's Nev Schulman. The 29-year-old rose to fame after his
documentary Catfish, about an online flirtation of his which turned
sour, became a breakout hit. He followed it up with a series on MTV
which followed similar stories of digital deception across America.
Nev has become the go-to expert in online relationships for
millennials, a generation who have never known a world without
Facebook. His clout in this area springs from his own experience
which led him to coin the term 'catfish', referring to someone who
creates a false online persona to reel someone into a romantic
relationship. Now Nev takes his investigation to the page. Woven
throughout with Nev's personal stories this book explores
relationships in the era of social media, delving deeply into the
complexities of dating in a digital age and continuing the cultural
dialogue his show has begun about how we interact with each other
online. In IN REAL LIFE Nev explores the pressing issue of
connectivity versus genuine connection which is plaguing our
relationships with each other, and he provides the advice that his
fans have been desperately seeking.
