This book is an information guide for prior service members that
are seeking to become an attorney or enter the legal profession in
general. Information that should be considered before making the
jump will be invaluable. Citations included are intended to shorten
this book and make it more reader friendly. If the reader desires
additional information, then the citations provide links that
access significant information. The information contained within
was obtained through personal experience and research. Emphasis was
placed upon the difficulties of the overall process of entering and
proceeding through law school in order to establish the reality of
a glorified system. This book demonstrates that prior service
members, and others, should think carefully about whether they
should go to law school. If the service member decides to proceed,
then this guide provides valuable information regarding the
process. General information about education benefits and a few
suggestions intended to help during law school are included.
In his obituary in 1899, the New York Times called Samual
Worthington Dewey "one of the most picturesque characters in
American history." For most of his life, Dewey was referred to in
public as a sea captain, but his 92 years were much more eclectic.
He collected knowledge and was attracted by persons who shared his
acquisitive thirst for experience and learning. Based in the
true-life experiences of Samuel W. Dewey, Stealing Andrew Jackson's
Head is a fictionalized account of those events, as told by Dewey
to eleven-year-old Jake Cooper.
