Since his canonization in 1970, St. Herman has been remembered for his just treatment of native peoples and his respect of the environment. Explaining how it came to be that this simple Russian Orthodox monk eventually settled in Kodiak, Alaska, this account brings to light many primary sources that illuminate the story of St. Herman and the wider context of the little-known history of Russian colonization in the Pacific Northwest. Providing a considerable amount of new information about his life, this book also reveals his fascinating connection to St. Seraphim of Sarov, the most universally recognized saint of the Russian Orthodox Church today.
The book is intended for managers and engineers either involved in outsourcing or thinking about starting a project. The customer side managers will learn some tips how to make outsourcing successful while vendor side mangers will get inside on the customer view of remote project management expectations. It will be interesting for outsourcing engineers to get clues about executive motivations of various management decisions. The authors hope that the book will make outsourcing more successful. After years of managing offshore development projects we found ourselves answering a stream of questions how to do certain things in outsourcing. As more new managers and engineers got involved in outsourcing and remote project management, they started looking for solutions to the similar issues we encountered before. Our colleagues and friends kept asking us again and again about outsourcing issues, so we decided to summarize our experience in a book focusing on intellectual property protection, remote human resource management and financial models of outsourcing activity. Everything in the book is based on our actual experience.
