Max August was a point man when he served during the Vietnam War,
the guy who had to lead his patrol through dangers he couldn't
possibly anticipate. Now he's a disc jockey, at one with the music
and his faithful audience . . . until the day when he is swept into
a battle invisible to all but the participants.
For nearly five centuries, Cornelius Agrippa has fought against an
evil that has threatened to corrupt and destroy everything good and
untainted in the world. Now, Max has joined the battle. It wasn't
his idea to fight a demonic entity that can become anything it
wants: an undying monster or the most desirable woman in the world.
Max has been chosen by fate to fight those who would use magick to
destroy freedom and wreak havoc on an unsuspecting world. Along
with Agrippa and Valerie Drake, a beautiful, talented singer, Max
is the only hope of the free world.
When a young American couple on vacation arrive on the
Mediterranean resort island of MAJORCA, they become involved in a
deadly cat-and-mouse game with the local colony of expatriates that
involves clandestine affairs, bondage - and murder Under the
island's searing sun, finding out who's the victim and who's the
perpetrator quickly becomes a game of life and death. Steve
Englehart is a prolific author of books and comic books, including
The Point Man and Countdown to Flight (a biography of the Wright
brothers), and dozens of popular characters such as The Batman,
Captain America, The Silver Surfer, and his own creation, Coyote.
His Night Man became a television series. Englehart has also worked
on animated series such as Team Atlantis and GI Joe, and as a game
designer for Disney, Electronic Arts, Sega, and Sony. In film and
television, thousands of fine scripts by established writers are
never produced. The Black Coat Script Library is dedicated to
presenting some of those scripts.
It's December 17, 1903, and Wilbur and Orville Wright are about to
do what man had dreamed of for centuries -- fly! They have worked
for five years, studying, trying new ideas, and testing their
inventions on a lonely spot of sandy beach at Kitty Hawk, North
Carolina. Finally, after many setbacks and disappointments, they
are ready to launch their engine-powered aeroplane -- and this time
it works. With Orville in the pilot's seat and Wilbur running
alongside holding on to the bottom of the wing, the Kitty Hawk
Flyer is in the air. The flight lasts just 12 seconds, but it is
the beginning of a new era of the amazing flying machines that now
take us all over the world.
