This book presents a number of aspects to be considered in the
development of disassembly automation, including the mechanical
system, vision system and intelligent planner. The implementation
of cognitive robotics increases the flexibility and degree of
autonomy of the disassembly system. Disassembly, as a step in the
treatment of end-of-life products, can allow the recovery of
embodied value left within disposed products, as well as the
appropriate separation of potentially-hazardous components. In the
end-of-life treatment industry, disassembly has largely been
limited to manual labor, which is expensive in developed countries.
Automation is one possible solution for economic feasibility. The
target audience primarily comprises researchers and experts in the
field, but the book may also be beneficial for graduate students.
This book gathers selected papers from the Second International
Symposium on Software Reliability, Industrial Safety, Cyber
Security and Physical Protection of Nuclear Power Plant, held in
Chengdu, China on August 23-25, 2017. The symposium provided a
platform of technical exchange and experience sharing for a broad
range of experts, scholars and nuclear power practitioners. The
book reflects the state of the art and latest trends in nuclear
instrumentation and control system technologies, as well as China's
growing influence in this area. It offers a valuable resource for
both practitioners and academics working in the field of nuclear
instrumentation, control systems and other safety-critical systems,
as well as nuclear power plant managers, public officials and
regulatory authorities.
This book is a compilation of selected papers from the 3rd
International Symposium on Software Reliability, Industrial Safety,
Cyber Security and Physical Protection of Nuclear Power Plants,
held in Harbin, China on 15th-17th August 2018. The symposium
discussed the status quo, technical advances and development
direction of digital instrument control technology, software
reliability, information security and physical protection in the
process of nuclear power development. Offering technical insights
and know from leading experts, this book is a valuable resource for
both practitioners and academics working in the field of nuclear
instrumentation, control systems and other safety-critical systems,
as well as nuclear power plant managers, public officials, and
regulatory authorities.
This book focuses on the design, management, and cybersecurity of
connected and autonomous vehicles under the umbrella of the
Internet of Vehicles. Both principles and engineering practice are
covered, from the design perspectives of communication, computing,
and perception to ITS management. An in-depth study of a range of
topics such as microscopic traffic behavior modeling and
simulation, localization, V2X communication, cooperative cloud-edge
computing, and multi-sensor fusion for perception has been
presented, while novel enabling technologies such as RIS and
blockchain are introduced. The book benefits researchers,
engineers, and graduate students in the fields of intelligent
transport systems, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and
autonomous driving.
Energy poverty, one of the major challenges facing the global
energy system, has drawn wide attention from the international
community and academia. As the largest developing country in the
world, China faces a number of challenges in understanding and
resolving the problem of energy poverty. Energy Economics:
Understanding and Interpreting Energy Poverty in China presents a
succinct overview of research on China's Energy Poverty as studied
by the Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research
(CEEP), Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Based on the
analytical framework of energy economics, the book summarizes and
refines international energy assessment methods, builds China's
energy poverty measurement and comprehensive evaluation criteria,
and evaluates China's energy poverty from the perspective of time
and space. It goes on to analyze the impact of solid fuel use on
urban and rural residents' health, and review the relationship
between energy poverty and economic development, clean energy
development and energy poverty, as well as climate change and
energy availability. Finally, it summarizes policies and actions to
eliminate energy poverty. This book will provide essential
scientific support for researchers and policy makers dealing with
energy poverty.
