Samizdat, the production and circulation of texts outside official channels, was an integral part of life in the final decades of the Soviet Union. But as Josephine von Zitzewitz explains, while much is known about the texts themselves, little is available on the complex communities and cultures that existed around them due to their necessarily secretive, and sometimes dissident, nature. By analysing the behaviours of different actors involved in Samizdat - readers, typists, librarians and the editors of periodicals in 1970s Leningrad, The Culture of Samizdat fills this lacuna in Soviet history scholarship. Crucially, as well as providing new insight into Samizdat texts, the book makes use of oral and written testimonies to examine the role of Samizdat activists and employs an interdisciplinary theoretical approach drawing on both the sociology of reading and book history. In doing so, von Zitzewitz uncovers the importance of 'middlemen' for Samizdat culture. In the 1990s and 2000s, contemporary art in India changed radically in form, as an art world once dominated by painting began to support installation, new media, and performance. In response to the liberalization of India's economy, art was cultivated by a booming market as well as by new nonprofit institutions that combined strong local roots and transnational connections. The result was an unprecedented efflorescence of contemporary art and growth of a network of institutions radiating out from India. Among the first studies of contemporary South Asian art, Infrastructure and Form engages with sixteen of India's leading contemporary artists and art collectives to examine what made this development possible. Written in the wake of the widely publicised attacks by Hindu nationalist activists on the late M. F. Husain, India's most famous artist and a prominent Muslim, The Art of Secularism addresses the entanglement of visual art with political secularism. The crisis in secularism in India, commonly associated with the rise of Hindu nationalism in the 1980s, transformed the meaning of art. It challenged the relation- ships between modernism, national culture, secularism and modernity that had been built since India's independence in 1947. The Art of Secularism describes how four renowned artists - M. F. Husain, K. G. Subramanyan, Gulammohammed Sheikh, and Bhupen Khakhar - developed their practice in an era when secular nationalism grappled with the recent re-enchantment of signs. Com- bining close readings of these artists' work with ethnography of the art worlds of Mumbai and Vadodara, Karin Zitzewitz describes both the everyday forms of cosmopolitanism in the Indian art world and the increasing vulnerability of art world spaces to cultural regulation. Mit Europa ist hier das politische Gebaude der Mitgliedsstaaten der Europaischen Gemeinschaft gemeint, das sich beginnend mit dem Vertrag von Maastricht 1993 zu der Europaischen Union entwickelt hat. Der Mittelmeerraum wird im folgenden von den Anrainerstaaten reprasentiert, die nicht Mitglied der Europaischen Union sind. Jedoch sind die Balkanstaaten und Libyen aus der Betrachtung ausgeschlossen, da sie nicht in die Euro-Mediterrane Partnerschaft einbezogen wurden. Gegenstand der Analyse sind also die Anrainerstaaten des sudlichen und ostlichen Mittelmeers, beginnend mit Marokko im Westen bis hin zur Turkei im Osten unter Einschluss der Inseln Malta und Zypern. Diese Staaten werden im folgenden als Mittelmeer-Drittlander (MDL) bezeichnet. Zusammenfassung: Mit der EU-Altauto-Richtlinie wird fur die Fahrzeugindustrie festgelegt, dass ab 2006 lediglich 15 % und ab 2015 nur noch 5 % eines Fahrzeugs deponiert werden durfen. Das Steigern der Recyclingquote von Altfahrzeugen und deren Bauteilen ist somit heute ein zentrales Thema. Daher wurde eine Diplomarbeit erstellt, in der aktuelle und in Entwicklung befindliche industrielle Verwertungsprozesse des Leitungssatzes (Kabelstrangs) untersucht und bewertet werden: des Leitungssatzes als einem Bauteil, das bis zu 65% des in Fahrzeugen verbauten Kupfers enthalt. Da Kupfer einen hohen Materialwert besitzt und schon bei kleinsten Gehalten in Stahl und Kunststoffen deren Eigenschaftsprofil stark verschlechtert, wird hierauf speziell eingegangen. Um Praxisnahe zu gewahrleisten, wurde die Arbeit in einem Automobilunternehmen erstellt. Daneben erfolgte eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit mehreren Zulieferfirmen sowie mit Betreibern der Verwertungsprozesse. Firmen wie Delphi, Lear, voestalpine, RRO, KME, NA und Cablo und ihre Ansprechpartner sind in der Arbeit genannt. Inzwischen werden in diesem Automobilunternehmen einige der erarbeiteten Vorschlage umgesetzt und die Zusammenarbeit mit einigen der o. g. Firmen wie z.B. Delphi vertieft. Es werden konkrete Verwertungsprozesse des Leitungssatzes vom vollstandigen Schreddern uber die Teildemontage bis zur vollstandigen Demontage auf ihre wirtschaftliche, okologische und technische Tragfahigkeit hin untersucht und anschliessend bewertet.
