New Wave Glass Palettes are made from a rectangular 1/8" glass panel and come in three colors: Grey, White and Clear. Made from tempered glass, they are resistant to breakage; they also bear plastic edge-protectors, which stop the palette slipping on smooth surfaces. The underside of the Grey and White palettes are covered with a dense, color-fast, solvent- and water-resistant base.

The main benefit for painters is the ease with which this palette can be cleaned. Dried acrylic paint will peel straight off the glass surface, and dried oil paint can be removed with solvents or a blade. However, this palette can be used for a wide range of artistic tasks besides painting. Because the glass surface is extremely smooth, it is an excellent surface for rolling out printmaking ink, monoprinting, or mulling pigments. Its compact size means it fits into the Masterson Artist Palette Seal which can be used to stop paint drying.

Using a simple eyelet system, Jackson's have created an apron that allows you to decide on the fit that's best for you. The two supportive straps do not pull at your neck and can be passed straight over your shoulders or crossed behind your back for extra security. Jackson's Extra Offset Crank knifes are a new range of palette and painting knives made from stainless steel with black wooden handles. Compared to the old range of Black Handled painting knives, these knives have longer shanks, a more flexible blade, and a larger ‘offset’. The offset is the angle between the flat of the blade and the handle.

When the bottom of the blade is held flat on a table, the handle of a knife with a large offset will point higher in the air than a knife with a small offset. A reasonable offset is desirable in a painting knife because it stops the artist’s knuckles coming into contact with the wet surface of the canvas.

The range also includes two palette knives which have long, straight blades which continue the line of the handle (i.e. with no offset at all).

This is a No. 6 knife. It has a wide blade which has a rounded tip.

This palette knife's blade measures 67mm in length, with a width of 22mm at its widest point and a tip of 5mm. The crank's offset measures 32mm, while the shank adds an additional 52mm in length. The handle measures 100mm in length with a diameter of 10mm.
