What is enlightenment? What is it not? This book exposes the myths and defines this misused term once and for all. Which teaching methods will get you there? And which will not? This book explains how the traditional methods work and why the modern, Western approaches are most unlikely to. The clearest book that has ever been written on the subject of enlightenment, it provides a detailed examination of the satsang phenomenon (and its more extreme, neo-Advaita variant), contrasting these approaches with the traditional methods passed down from teacher to disciple for over a thousand years. It indicates what is needed in the way of preparation and path in order to gain enlightenment, given some modern teachers' statements to the effect that there is 'no person' and 'nothing to do'. With a Foreword by Dr. Greg Goode, philosophical counsellor and one of the most knowledgeable people in the world on the subject of non-duality.

Originally published in 1912 and long considered the most important sourcebook on the Count of Saint-Germain, this volume traces the life and activities of this extraordinary mystic and philosopher who influenced much of 18th century Western Europe's history. Overshadowing all is the figure of Christian Rosenkreutz and the work of the Rosicrucians, alchemists, and Masonry during that significant period.

"From the beginning, the basic element of the story that I have wanted to write about has been the Meaning of Life. But the story I started to pen has been the story of my life. For as long as I can remember, people have been telling me to write that story down." A contemplative blend of memoir and moral science, "Seeing through Closed Eyes: A Memoir with a Social Conscience" is an honest and provocative testament to the power of spiritual relativity and its ability to help attain meaning in life. Along with the subjects of passion, life, and death, author Angelo La Pietra explores the relationship of the uncharted subconscious and the complacent conscious. "Seeing through Closed Eyes" is based on La Pietra's unconventional life and focuses especially on peculiar dreams that have challenged his understanding of spiritual relativity. The unique personalities in La Pietra's dreams come unsought into his life, imposing their own agendas onto his. As you reflect with him on these visions, you will follow his journey through painful memory, impassioned seeking for meaning, and finally, a growing understanding of what life could be.

Although originally a companion volume to Complete History of the Rosicrucian Order, this book works well as an independent reference, answering virtually every question one might have about Rosicrucianism. There is no better work available that outlines exactly what this mystical and sometimes secretive organization is truly all about. Important for members and researchers who want to know both fundamental and advanced information that would otherwise not be available. Originally published through the order itself, with answers supplied by the most respected Rosicrucian of his time, H. Spencer Lewis.

Known only to each other, they have walked among us, invisible and undetected for years. But now, the secret is out Atheists exist in the African American community. In the African American community there is an unspoken rule to never air dirty laundry in public, and for years the inner workings of the black community stayed hidden beneath a veil of dark silence, but with integration came a mingling of the races and now few secrets remain. Now, there is one less. Not only do black nonbelievers exist, they walk unnoticed among the "true-believers" along with a host of other religious skeptics and freethinkers. Until now, any hints of atheism or freethought in the African American community have remained virtually invisible, camouflaged by indignant denial and indistinct expressions, such as secularist, nontheist, skeptic or humanist among others which help conceal clear atheistic, agnostic or freethought connections which are certainly not conventional and clearly go against black mainstream thinking. Despite more than 90% of African Americans claiming Christianity, "Black and Not Baptist" explores how there is a significant chasm between belief and behavior with a searing look at the statistics for adultery, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, gambling and other social problems in both the white and black communities. In the manner of "Norm Allen's African American Humanism: An Anthology," "Black and Not Baptist" exposes another side of the black religious experience with the individual stories of black atheists and agnostics, including a historical and current listing of black freethinkers and nonbelievers similar to Warren Allen Smith's Who's Who in Hell.
The author, a former high ranking Rosicrucian and prolific author on the subject for many years, reveals the true history of the Rosicrucian order. Many popular accounts put forth the idea that it was started in Germany in the seventeenth century by Christian Rosenkreuz, but Lewis shows how and why the order and its origins goes much further back into the past than this story relates. According to the author, there was simply a revival taking place in the seventeenth century that has continued on until today. Explore some of the world's most ancient mystical secrets, what they really mean, and why they were preserved for centuries by the Rosicrucians.
