Please note, these sheets have a 'Not' finish (cold-pressed). They have a slightly textured surface, and are not recommended for painting in an extremely detailed manner, though they should be suitable for most purposes.

The machinery normally used to make paper uses alot of energy, turning paper pulp into a giant roll of perfectly dry paper in barely a minute. Our handmade papers however are made from recycled cotton, they are individuallyset into the moulds and then dried slowly in the Indian sun. The water used in the production is then run off to irrigate the field neighbouring the factory. These papers are alsomade in special small moulds which allows us to produce beautiful deckle edged sheets in 1/4 & 1/2 imperial sizes. All papers are available at an unbeatable price!
1/4 and 1/2 sheets are deckled on all four sides of the 140lb & 200lb papers.

Fabriano Artistico watercolour paper is mould made and is produced with 100% cotton. It is chlorine and acid free, guaranteeing long conservation and inalterability over time. The paper is sized both internally and externally, making it ideally absorbent and retaining its nature unaltered even if scratched. This paper is traditional white, without optical bleaching.

This superb artist grade watercolour paper from Saunders Waterford has a watermark in the corner for authenticity and 4 deckle edges which are visually beautiful and perfect for float framing. Please note that while Saunders Waterford High White papers are noticeably whiter than the traditional Saunders Waterford paper, they still have a pale cream appearance. This is because it is not currently possible to whiten the paper to a bright white without compromising light-fastness by using Optical Brightening Agents. The whiter shade of Saunders Waterford High White paper is achieved by adding a high white lightfast pigment with good long-life properties, as used in some watercolour paints.
