There's more than one way to be a witch! Some witches harness the
properties of herbs and crystals, and some craft their own spells
and rituals for empowerment and success; some dress all in black,
and some prefer a more colorful aesthetic. Author and illustrator
Sonia Lazo celebrates the power and diversity of contemporary
witches in this enchanting love letter to all things occult. Her
charming illustrations offer an inclusive, body-positive message to
modern mystics all over the world, reminding readers that anyone
can tap into their inner magic-all you have to do is be true to
yourself.
In 1590 three hundred Scottish 'witches' were tried for plotting
the murder of their King, James VI of Scotland (soon to be James I
of England). James is known to have suffered from a morbid fear of
violent death, and the trial heightened his anxiety over this
apparently treasonous 'un-Christian' sect, and stimulated him to
study the whole subject of witchcraft. 'Daemonologie' is the result
of this royal research, detailing his opinions on the topic in the
form of a Socratic dialogue between the sceptic Philomathes and
witch-averse Epistemon, who reveals many aspects of witch-craft.
The book consists of three sections, on magic, on sorcery and
witchcraft, and on spirits and ghosts, and ends with a lurid
account of the North Berwick witch trials, based on the evidence of
Dr John Fian, the alleged head of the coven, whose 'confession' was
obtained with the aid of thumbscrews, the Boot, and by the ripping
out of his fingernails.
Explore your Inner Temple--your personal sacred space where there
are no boundaries and all things are possible. With study,
dedication, and practice, the lessons and exercises in this book
will empower you to transform the repetitive rigors of the daily
grind into a witch's web of magickal experiences.
"The Inner Temple of Witchcraft" is a thorough course of education,
introspection, meditation, and the development of the magickal and
psychic abilities that are the birthright of the witch. Four
introductory chapters present the history, traditions, and
principles of witchcraft, followed by thirteen lessons that start
with basic meditation techniques and culminate in a self-initiation
ceremony equivalent to the first-degree level of traditional
coven-based witchcraft.
As you progress through this year-and-a-day course of study, you
will explore a wide range of topics that support and inform the
dedicated witch:
- Ancient and modern magickal philosophy
- Modern scientific theories supporting a new definition of reality
- "Instant" magick techniques for protection, healing, and serenity
- Energy work and anatomy, including chakras and auras
- Astral travel, dreams, and spirit guides
- Healing techniques for body, mind, and spirit
This book's non-dogmatic presentation encourages an eclectic,
personal approach while providing a strong foundation for the
practice of witchcraft and magick. Develop your psychic abilities
and practice potent magickal techniques as you explore the source
of every witch's power--the temple within.

of the region, and its practice can be applied to any culture,
state or region in the world.

bestseller in its native Serbia - is an incredible look into the
world of the Balkan Witch, covering ritual trance, tools, rites for
healing, love, divination, defense and for making charms. It also

world with, deities, fairies and other spirits. There has never
been such a deep exploration of the magic of this region available
in English before.
Hekate - Liminal Rites A Study of the Rituals, Magic and Symbols of
the torch-bearing Triple Goddess of the Crossroads by Sorita d'Este
and David Rankine At the crossroads of life, death and rebirth
stands the Goddess Hekate. Honoured by men, women and gods alike,
traces of her ancient provenance reach back through the millennia
providing clues about her nature and origins along the way.
Depictions of her as three formed facing in three ways, sometimes
with the heads of animals such as the horse, dog and snake hint at
her liminal nature, as well as the powers she holds over the triple
realms of earth, sea and sky. The sorcery of Medea and Circe, the
witchcraft of the women of Thessaly, the writings of philosophers
such as Hesiod and Porphyry all provide glimpses into the world of
those who honoured her. Her magical powers were considered so great
that even King Solomon became associated with her, she was
incorporated into Jewish magic, and merged with other goddesses
including Artemis, Selene, Bendis and the Egyptian Isis. Whilst for
some she was the Witch Goddess, for others she was the ruler of
angels and daimons, who made predictions about Jesus and
Christianity. Wherever you look, be it in the texts of Ancient
Greece and Rome, Byzantium or the Renaissance, the Greek Magical
Papyri or the Chaldean Oracles, you will find Hekate. The magical
whir of the strophalos and the barbarous words of the voces magicae
carry her message; the defixiones, love spells and charms all
provides us with examples of the magic done in her name. She was
also associated with the magic of death, including necromancy and
reanimation; as well as prophetic dreams, nightmares, healing herbs
and poisons. The temples dedicated to her and the important role
she played in the mysteries of Eleusis, Samothrace and Aigina all
provide us with clues to her majesty. The popular shrines at the
doorways of ordinary people, offerings left at the crossroads and
guardian statues of her at the entrance ways to cities and temples
all attest to her status in the hearts and minds of those who knew
her mysteries. In this book the authors draw from a wide range of
sources, bringing together historical research which provides
insights into the magical and religious practices associated with
this remarkable Goddess. In doing so they provide an indispensable
guide for those wishing to explore the mysteries of Hekate today.
