Life in Occupied Japan A True Story Joyce was 23, pregnant, had a
toddler, and infant when she arrived in Tokyo in June of 1950. The
following day her husband left to fight in the Korean conflict. He
left her with no money and life's hardships began. Her toddler son
got lost and getting help and assistance would be hard in her own
country, let alone in a defeated island nation. Right decisions and
luck allowed her to find a job, The military assigned her a live-in
Japanese maid. She also was able to hire other live in help to take
care of the kids. Then it happened. A knock on the door. A handsome
military man reported her husband's war injury and one thing led to
another. Romance and another pregnancy began a tangled weave of
deceit. Jealousy engaged belligerency at a holiday military ball as
events and a story of twists and turns soon meets with a closing
chapter.
