I love it! but...

When I opened the box, I had this idea of a Global Knife being so sharp that it would cut me by looking at it wrong, but this was not the case.
Straight out of the box my Knife was blunt, not blunt like it wouldn't cut my fingers off, but blunt in the sense that it is not as sharp as you would expect a Global to be.
If I was not a knife enthusiast and this was my first Global, I would have been disappointed as it would not have been able to cut an over ripe tomato into paper thin wafers under the tomato's own weight as depicted by the many Chef and review Youtube Videos.
Here is why, This knife had traveled a long distance to get to me, and even in it's very neat packaging the knife was able to make itself blunt.
With a few stokes stropping the knife on an old leather belt, it quickly trues the primary cutting edge and then the knife becomes a Global masterpiece.
Very well balanced blade, hard cutting edge for longevity and a very hygienic design having the handle and blade all in one. Beautiful design and very comfortable to hold (for right handed people)
Also remember you can't true this knife on normal steel, you have to use the ceramic rod due to the rockwell rating on the cutting edge being so high.
