The sequel to 'Once Upon a Time in the Army' After John Sargeant
(aka The Sarge) left the army the story is taken over by Rod, Billy
and the rest of the crazy squaddies that Sarge left behind
stationed with the Duke of Wellington's Regiment at Catterick North
Yorkshire and Northern Ireland in the early 1970's. After lazing
about on the beaches and in the bars of Hong Kong, it was a bit of
a shock to find out they were now expected to work for a living.
But what was Billy up to? What secret was he hiding? The crudeness
of soldier's speech and behaviour is a well known fact and is
represented in this novel, which contains details of a sexual
nature and very strong language. Readers likely to find such
representation disturbing or distasteful are warned. Some
characters and events in this novel are based on real people and
events, some characters and events are fictitious.I will leave the
reader to make up their own mind about what is real and what is
fiction.
