In this book, psychotherapist Chiara Piroddi provides simple and stimulating activities helping kids to explore and learn the names and feelings of emotions. The book begins with a pedological explanation of the content for teachers and parents; and ends with suggestions for additional Montessorian activities to experience the world beyond its pages.
Space is the last title in a series of activity books which is a collection of texts for children which contains playing activities aimed to encourage the development of the main cognitive skills following the Montessori method and its most typical topics. The contents follow a progressive complexity to challenge the children to complete various tasks with great results all by themselves. My first book about Space. Using the Montessori concept of nesting elements where smaller elements are contained in progressively bigger ones, the child can see the logical sequence from the Earth to the Space Exploration. A lot of stickers, at the end, will make the activities even more interactive!
The idea behind the board book collection was to attract even the youngest readers (from as young as 21/2 years old); to encourage them to discover subjects and areas that interest them (nature, animals, shapes, etc.) and to help them classify the things that surround them. The series is comprised of ten little books. Two are instructive, teaching shapes and numbers; five are exploratory and describe settings that are fun to discover (farm animals, wild animals, the backyard and its insects, the vegetable garden) and three are short stories about the experience of birth in nature (the birth of a little bird, of a butterfly and of a flower). Narration becomes the background for the text since touching and picture readings are the primary means of interpretation. A guiding character accompanies the child throughout each developing story until the end, where there is a summary of all the characters introduced in the book. Consistent with the Montessori approach, the child is encouraged to interact independently with his or her book. For example, in some cases, the child is asked to use a finger to trace the outline of a shape and notice its characteristics (round, sharp-edged, jagged, etc.). In others, he or she is asked to use a finger to follow a path in order to discover hidden characters and learn to associate them with their most distinctive features (the lion's tail, the rabbit's ears, the colours of vegetables, etc.).
How do we move around the world with awareness? Thanks to the 5 senses, which allow us to experience reality! In this book, the psychotherapist Chiara Piroddi provides games and activities that allow the child to learn, independently, through guided games and simple but accurate explanations, the anatomical characteristics of the five senses. At the end of the book, thanks to simple instructions, it will be possible to create additional Montessorian materials to experience the world beyond the book.

The story of this book, through its interactive flaps, was inspired by the studies of Paul Ekman, thanks to which we can recognize 6 fundamental activities: Recognizing the emotions, Feeling empathy, Trusting, Socializing, Pondering & Identifying. A short story in which the ability developed is Feeling: the protagonists are children aged around 4 years, of various ethnic groups and physical characteristics, which reflect on the different components that emotions have, thus becoming a useful tool for working on emotional education.
One of the fundamental pillars of a Montessori approach is providing children with opportunities for autonomy in their life - from getting dressed to learning. In this book, psychotherapist Chiara Piroddi, provides simple and stimulating activities that children can easily execute on their own. The book begins with a pedological explanation of the content for teachers and parents; and ends with suggestions for additional Montessorian activities to experience the world beyond its pages
To share is a process that involves complex cognitive and emotional skills. To be able to share, the child must be able to understand that objects exist and belong to him even when he does not see them and be able to put himself in the other's shoes. With the identification through illustrations, the child understands how to enjoy shared games, enhancing these moments and highlighting the fun in doing what they like best. We help the children to find solutions that can mediate their needs with those of others, without this necessarily implying a renunciation. In this way, we manage their ability to think about a solution strategy, and to respect the needs of the other.
The proposed activities are inspired by the studies of Daniel Goleman on emotional development and concern child's reflection on the characteristics of emotions, on one's own and others' emotional states and on the association of physical characteristics to certain emotions. In the book the 6 basic emotions and the 2 social emotions are analysed. In this activity book the ability developed is Feeling: by training child's emotional ability, we can provide them with tools to face the most complex situations and the most difficult and important tasks, which could not be entrusted solely to the intellect.

The book is based on studies by Sylvie Droit-Volet about the perception of time in children, and the activities are proposed in everyday circumstances, such as preparing for going to school. In this interactive book with flaps, the ability developed is Exploring: orientation and spatial-temporal coordination are trained, curiosity is encouraged by giving the reader the tools to face increasingly complex situations and the most difficult and important tasks.

The little Sloth is really curious about the noise and bustle he hears from the branch he hangs upon. One little step at a time, he will come down and discover how his friends in the forest live. Surprised by the mess, confusion and restlessness of the lives of chimps, tigers and toucans, he will teach them how to appreciate the virtues of calm and reflection, to learn, together with the little readers, his motto: "Take it... sloth!" Aimed at 4-6 year olds, this book includes activities to develop the consciousness of the different emotions and how to cope with impatience and waiting times, as well as learning to pacing it down. The moments of "boredom" will become occasions to develop creativity and free the children's fantasy, as well as learning how to fill the lull moments as long car trips or rainy afternoons.
Nature has an important role in Montessorian pedagogy. According to Maria Montessori, taking care of animals and plants is highly satisfying for the child: knowing that someone needs him/her and that his/her work gives rise to life is a great incentive for his/her sense of responsibility, but also for his/her emotional development, and ability to imagine and control the actions and emotions that are part of the world of childhood. The activities in this book are intended for children from 2 to 10 years, with the aim of recovering the natural bond between the child and the world of nature. They are subdivided into 4 areas, according to what Maria Montessori observed to be the most important aspects in the child's relationship with nature. The activities are designed partly for the home, but are always inspired, where possible, by experience in the open air, in the garden, in the vegetable garden, in the alley behind the home, or in the playground.

This book helps children aged three and up explore various themes related to the seasons of the year, highlighting the peculiarities of each season and reinforcing the idea of change and the cyclical passage of time. The book furnishes information and curious facts about the typical weather of each season, the fruits and vegetables that are grown in each season, the habits of animals in different seasons and what kind of clothes are most adapt in which months. All the activities make it possible to assimilate information in the simple, independent manner inspired by the Montessori Method.

This book accompanies children aged five and up on the discovery of their own bodies with an overview of each body area and the most important internal organs, starting at the top with the head and continuing down to the feet. The cards are inspired by the Montessori Method and help the children to develop an awareness of their own bodies by helping them to learn the name, the position, the size and the function of each organ. Each child interacts with the book but also carries out exercises directly with his or her own body in order to learn to observe it and listen to it.
