The ultimate reference and guide to the book of 1 Enoch (The
Ethiopic Book of Enoch) containing the author's notes and insights
on the ancient text, commentary, parallel Bible verses, history,
prophecy, and the Calendar of Enoch. The author has included an
amazing section on the application of the Calendar of Enoch to the
prophecy of Daniel and "Daniel's Week of Years." Joseph Lumpkin is
the author of the best selling books, "The Lost Book of Enoch - A
Comprehensive Transliteration," "The Second Book of Enoch," and
"The Third Book of Enoch." Now he brings us his extensive knowledge
in Enochian literature in this single-source reference for those
seeking more information on the Book of Enoch and its contribution
to the Christian and Jewish faiths.
In the beginning the church was a fellowship of men and women
centering on the living Christ. Then the church moved to Greece
where it became a philosophy. Then it moved to Rome where it became
an institution. Next, it moved to Europe, where it became a
culture. And, finally, it moved to America where it became an
enterprise. -- Richard Halverson Most would agree that the modern
church has become a disgraceful place, which still houses an
eternal truth. Even when faced with this knowledge it is difficult
to break away from our traditions. How do we rescue our own
spirituality from the church? We shall cut tradition away from
truth and let truth stand on its own. Tradition is a prison housing
truth and religion is the hangman of spirituality. Both truth and
spirit can be rescued with the courage to question and still
believe. We will attempt to use the "double-edged approach" of
faith in God and historical - political scrutiny of the church. The
errors of religion are placed along side the beauty of the
spiritual view of the mystical church. It is hoped that such a dual
approach may lend itself to a more balanced view while mimicking
the feelings many of us now harbor for the modern church. We come
to the church with fear and disdain of its judgment and greed, all
the while seeking God's love and mercy. When the truth is revealed
God can still be seen in the rumble of what has become the church.
He is beckoning the individual soul. The personal path is made
clear in these pages.
Using texts from ancient and controversial discoveries, the missing
years of Jesus are uncovered, revealing a young man's struggle
between childhood and godhood. Jesus the child, the boy, the man,
and the Messiah are all seen in documents spanning from the time of
his birth to his crucifixion. Now, the missing years in the life of
Jesus are told through the pages of these hotly contested books and
letters. Sources used in this investigation include: The Infancy
Gospel of the Savior, The Book of James or Protevangelium, The
Infancy Gospel of Thomas, The History of Joseph the Carpenter,
Letters Between Pilate and Seneca, Letters Between Pilate and
Herod, Letters between Pilate and Tiberius Caesar, The Life of
Saint Issa (Jesus), and The Book Of Luke.
The text known as "Second Enoch," was discovered in 1886 by
Professor Sokolov in the archives of the Belgrade Public Library.
The Second Book of Enoch, or 2 Enoch was written in the latter half
of the first century A.D. but had gone through alterations and
additions to make it more acceptable to the Christian community. It
was written in Slavonic but had evidence of being translated from
another language. 2 Enoch has also been known by the title "The
Secrets of Enoch." 2 Enoch and is an expansion of Genesis 5:21-32,
taking the reader from the time of Enoch to the onset of the great
flood of Noah's day.
The First and Second Books of Enoch: The Ethiopic and Slavonic Texts: A Comprehensive Translation with Commentary contains Lumpkin's renowned work of his first book, "The Lost Book of Enoch" along with his newest work on "The Second Book of Enoch." He adds piercing insight and commentary, which include explanations of ancient terms and names as well as the meaning behind the rich symbolism of dates, numbers, and seasons. "The First Book of Enoch" is also known as "The Lost Book of Enoch," "Ethiopic Enoch," and "1 Enoch." "The Second Book of Enoch" is also known as "Slavonic Enoch," "The Book of the Secrets of Enoch," and 2 Enoch." This is one of a very few books containing both ancient texts in one volume.

The First and Second Books of Adam and Eve make up an apocryphal
story, written in a midrash style, detailing the time from the
planting of the Garden of Eden and creation of Adam to the time of
Enoch. For those interested in Angels and Demons, the dialog and
tactics of Satan, in his quest to destroy mankind, will be of
special value. For serious students of religion and religious
history, this book is a must-have.
No discovery since the Dead Sea Scrolls has rocked the Christian
world like that of the newly translated "Gospel of Judas." The
story presented in the short but powerful text reveals a plan in
which heavenly ends justified monstrous means. Betrayal became
collaboration and murder resembled suicide as Jesus and Judas began
a macabre dance into eternity. Orthodox Christianity has its
doctrine, its canon, and its political story, but these are quite
different from those exposed in the Gospel of Judas. Imagine Judas,
the man all of Christendom has hated for two thousand years, now
portrayed as the chosen one, the martyr, the scapegoat, and the man
instructed and appointed by Jesus himself to orchestrate and carry
out the greatest treachery of all time. Come with us as we explore
the Gospel of Judas. We will attempt to fill the gaps in the text
and the theology. We will compare and contrast the Gospel of Judas
with the biblical accounts. We will examine the man, his history,
and his story.
The story of Mary empowers us. To many, she is the captive,
possessed, enslaved, caught in the midst of crime and tragedy, but
at once redeemed, set free, and loved by God himself. She is hope
and triumph. She represents the power of truth and love to change
the life of the lowest and most powerless of us. She is you and me
in search of God. The Gospel of mary Magdalene serves to shake our
concepts and assumptions of early Christianity. Did Jesus give Mary
special and personal knowledge and teaching? Did he take Mary to be
his wife? Could the couple have produced children? Gnostic theology
leaves open the possibility. Peter said to Mary; "Sister we know
that the Savior loved you more than all other women. Tell us the
words of the Savior that you remember and know, but we have not
heard and do not know. Mary answered him and said; "I will tell you
what He hid from you." The Gospel of Mary Magdalene
Evil walked the earth when angels fell. Evil stalks us now in
disembodied spirits; immortal wraiths once clothed in flesh when
angel and women bred; spirits released from their fleshly prisons
when their bodies were destroyed for drinking the blood of men.
Evil also lives inside of the common man; set free when pride kills
reason and eats integrity whole. There is evil that entraps us and
evil that tugs from within. But neither have control until we
choose to relent. Evil is a choice of action, of thoughts
entertained too long, of arrogance pushing aside the last vestiges
of compassion. Evil resides within the problem of choice. What is
evil? Could it be as simple as pernicious selfishness? Could it be
the drive for immediate gratification without regard for others?
Man's life is limited; one hundred years or less. But, the souls of
angel and watcher are eternal. Consider how much evil can be
wrought through the millennia of immediate gratification on an
eternal scale. By contrasting and comparing ancient texts such as
Enoch, Jasher, Jubilees, the Bible, and various others containing
stories of the creation of angels, demons, and man, a full and
panoramic history of evil is produced. In this history the
startling revelation of the descent of man and angels, and the
evolution of evil on earth is clearly revealed.
In the winter of 1945, in Upper Egypt, an Arab peasant discovered a
large vessel. Inside were scrolls containing a hitherto unseen
book. One of these books was the Gospel of Thomas. Here before you
is the translation of that book. This is the contemporary
translation of the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas with Greek and Coptic
verses. Included are Bible parallels and commentary placed within
the flow of the text to explain and expand these amazing verses.
Are Angels, Seraphim, and Cherubim exactly as the scriptures
describe them - spiritual beings made by God for His service? Are
Demons those same beings acting contrary to their natural purpose?
There are many unanswered questions and coincidental occurrences.
Presented to the reader is the data from history and many ancient
texts, which forced us to question our traditional beliefs. This
book draws no conclusions but only ask those questions shouting to
us from recently unearthed scrolls, which are thousands of years
old. Whether one starts with a totally open mind, or with an
assumption that the beings in the pages of history are from a
different space, time, or dimension, this book will rock your
beliefs.
