Triple bill of fantasy thrillers. Len Wiseman's directorial debut 'Underworld' (2003) sees vampires battle with werewolves. Two underground communities, the sophisticated Death Dealers (vampires), and the feral Lycans (werewolves), have been battling for supremacy and hidden from the mortal world for centuries. That is until one night when one of their battles is witnessed by a young doctor, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman). When a leading member of the Death Dealers, Selene (Kate Beckinsale), discovers a Lycan plot to kill the doctor she decides to follow him. But the more Selene follows him, the more attracted to the man she becomes - and becomes convinced that the Lycans are planning a major attack. When Corvin is attacked by a Lycan and becomes a werewolf, and a sworn enemy of her race, Selene finds herself in a dilemma. In 'Underworld 2 - Evolution' (2006), the battle between the Death Dealers and the Lycans turns even bloodier when a beautiful young Vampire warrior and a newly-turned Lycan with a mysterious past fall in love. Finally, 'Underworld: Rise of Lycans' (2009) tells the story of the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime werewolf slaves. In the Dark Ages, young Lycan Lucian (Michael Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.

A poet and a romantic, Mark has lived a life devoid of sexual intimacy. Hitchcock (2012)
Anthony Hopkins stars as the legendary director in this biopic that chronicles the personal and professional relationship between Hitchcock and his wife Alma Reville (Helen Mirren) during the making of his 1960 classic 'Psycho'. It's 1959 and, increasingly worried about his relevance, Hitchcock decides a change of direction is what is needed. He settles on adapting Robert Bloch's true crime novel 'Psycho', despite the protestations of both Alma and Paramount President Barney Balaban (Richard Portnow). Having to mortgage their house to pay for the film, Alma's initial opposition soon gives way to support, as she dutifully throws herself fully behind the project. But as her husband begins to indulge himself in his trademark flights of fancy with a variety of blonde stars, Alma, whilst trying to keep the marriage on the rails, is determined that her own needs take centre stage.

All four films from the popular 'Die Hard' franchise. In 'Die Hard' (1988) on Christmas Eve, New York cop John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) in Los Angeles, where she works. They are attending a party at Holly's high-rise office block when terrorists, led by the suave Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) break in, taking everyone hostage. McClane manages to evade capture, however, and sets out to rescue his wife and the other prisoners. It is not long before he is running barefoot over shattered glass in a sweaty vest, muttering 'Yippy kay aye' as he dispatches the baddies with bullets and a certain earthy wit. In 'Die Hard 2 - Die Harder' (1990), Los Angeles cop John McClane is set to meet up with wife Holly on Christmas Eve, this time at Dulles airport in Washington DC. However, when terrorists take over the airport in an attempt to rescue dictator Esperanza (Franco Nero) from his incoming flight, it is up to McClane to restore order and ensure that Holly's plane lands safely. Get that sweaty vest out, and put some shoes on this time. In 'Die Hard with a Vengeance' John McClane becomes involved in a twisted game of Simon Says when an evil terrorist (Jeremy Irons) sends him dashing all over the city in an effort to find a series of explosive devices. Teaming up with electrician Zeus Carver (Samuel L. Jackson), McClane soon discovers that the bombs are an elaborate ruse intended to provide cover for a billion dollar bank job. Finally, 'Die Hard 4.0' (2007) finds McClane routinely asked to bring in a computer hacker, Matt Farrell (Justin Long) for questioning. In transit, events overtake them as they witness a full-scale cyber attack on the country's infrastructure led by mystery attacker Thomas Gabriel (Timothy Oliphant), who plans to systematically shut down or destroy the nation's major networks over three days. With time running out, McClane and his hacker friend have to stop the mastermind before it's too late.

Wes Craven's smash hit horror trilogy is a post-modern take on the slasher cycle of the late Seventies and early Eighties, which included the director's own 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'. In 'Scream' (1996), a psychotic freak with a love of horror flicks murders teenager Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore) in the small American town of Woodsboro. The killer then begins terrorising Casey's classmate, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), whose mother was murdered a year earlier. When Sidney encounters the stalker and escapes, her boyfriend Billy (Skeet Ulrich) is arrested. However, the phone calls and killings continue. The sequel, 'Scream 2' (1997), takes place a year on from the events of the first film. Survivors Sidney Prescott and Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy) are now students at the same college. A movie based on the Woodsboro murders, 'Stab', sparks off a series of copycat killings, and soon the nightmare is beginning all over again. While Sidney wonders who she can really trust, Randy teams up with former police deputy Dewey (David Arquette), still recovering from the effects of his stabbing the first time round, to work out the rules of a real-life horror sequel. One thing's for sure: the body count has to be higher. Also back on the scene are reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox Arquette), who has successfully published her own account of the original killings - sacrificing her romance with Dewey in the process - and Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber), the man Sidney had wrongfully imprisoned for her mother's murder. The third and final instalment is 'Scream 3' (2000). When talk show host Cotton Weary - the man once wrongly suspected of carrying out the first of the notorious Woodsboro killings - is himself murdered by a masked figure, plenty of free publicity is provided for 'Stab 3 - Return to Woodsboro', the third in a series of films based around the real-life events. When two of the film's cast are also murdered production is called to a halt, and the three remaining Woodsboro survivors - recluse Sidney Prescott, television reporter Gale Weathers and fomer police deputy Dewey Riley - join forces to find the killer.

Hugh Jackman reprises his role as clawed mutant Wolverine (formerly James Logan) in this blockbuster superhero action sequel based on the Marvel Comics strip. Set at a time following 'X-Men 3' (2006), Logan finds himself vulnerable, alone and at his lowest point, after losing his intimate connections with the outside world. Drawn to modern-day Japan by the gratitude of a wealthy industrialist from his past who secretly covets his healing powers, Logan soon finds himself up against the deadly charms of a femme fatale known as 'The Viper' (Svetlana Khodchenkova), whilst having to confront samurai steel and lethal ninjas as his destiny draws him towards a winner-takes-all battle with his ultimate foe, 'The Silver Samurai' (Will Yun Lee).
