The MRCP Part 1 Examination is designed to assess a candidate's knowledge and understanding of the clinical sciences relevant to medical practice and of common or important disorders to a level appropriate for entry to specialist training. Get Through MRCP Part 1: BOFs provides the reader with over 600 questions and answers, allowing them to test their knowledge in preparation for the exam. Questions are presented in the style used in the real examination, and answers are supplemented with useful additional explanatory material to help the reader understand why their answer was right, or wrong. The book offers a useful review of all elements of the syllabus, so the reader can feel fully prepared when they enter the examination room.
This is the 2nd edition of my previous book, "Self-Assessment for MRCP part II; 135 Best of Many Questions with Photographic Materials for MRCP(UK) and MRCP(I) Part II Written Exams", which was published in 2009. This book is a rapid self-assessment tool. There are many clues and tricks on how to analyze and answer certain questions. Each chapter does not contain more than 15 questions; it's like a mock paper/exam. I have included many data interpretations and photographic materials. Each question has an objective. Try to target that objective. In writing this book, I tried my best to include the commonest examination themes that have been encountered recently. Good luck!
[NB: The 2nd edition of this book is entitled "Self-Assessment: 650 BOFs for MRCP(UK) and MRCP(I) Part I" and was published in January 2017. Please buy and use this 2nd edition.] Self-Assessment for MRCP(UK) Part 1 tests the candidate's level of knowledge with respect to internal medicine (and its sub-specialties). It provides 650 questions with their comprehensive explanation. This book helps doctors prepare for the membership diploma of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom and Ireland. The author is Osama S. M. Amin, a board-certified neurologist. Dr. Osama S. M. Amin is an associate professor of neurology, consultant neurologist, and Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom and Ireland.
