This novel is about a young boy as he experiences life in the time
of Jesus Christ. It tells of his early life at En-Gedi, his life as
he travels with Jesus, his life after the resurrection and
ascension of Jesus and about those he encountered as he lived his
life out in Capernaum to the age of 100 years. In effect, it is a
bible story that explains the rudiments of Christianity. It is a
great adventure in Christianity. The author is retired from the U.S.
Air Force where he became acquainted with North Africa and the
Middle East. In 1999 he and his wife had the opportunity to tour
the Holy Land and Egypt. He came to appreciate the rich history of
the area of Jesus Christ and the Pharaohs. In order to put it all
into perspective, he wrote this novel to assist him in better
understanding his Christian religion and how Christian message has
spread throughout the world. It is based on the history listed in
the Reference section and a harmony of the gospels of Matthew,
Luke, Mark, and John. It acquaints the reader with the Jewish One
God in contrast with the multiple gods of the Egyptians, Greeks,
and Romans. Their gods were laid bare by the free offer of
salvation by the One God.
You have a giant in your life. An adversary that's diminishing your
ability to live fully in Christ. Whatever it may be-rejection,
fear, anger, comfort, or addiction-this giant stands between you
and God's promise...and it must fall. Like with David and the
Israelites, God has a better plan for you than to stand and be
taunted day after day by a 9-foot Goliath. God's plan for you is to
live in victory. In this six-session video Bible study (streaming
code included), Pastor Louie Giglio reveals a twist in the story of
David and Goliath that will help you and your study group see how
God works victories in the lives of his people. This study guide
has everything you need for a full Bible study experience,
including: The study guide itself-with discussion and reflection
questions, activities, video notes, and a leader's guide. An
individual access code to stream all six video sessions online (you
don't need to buy a DVD!). Each session will equip you with
practical, hands-on steps to take after engaging in passages from
the Bible and Louie's video talks, which show how living free from
our giants means putting our hope in Jesus. When we do, we get to
watch Goliath fall. Sessions and video run times: Dead but Still
Deadly (22:30) Fear Must Fall (23:00) Rejection Must Fall (20:00)
Comfort Must Fall (20:00) Anger Must Fall (22:30) Addiction Must

Do you find it more difficult to think of Jesus Christ as a human,
like you, than to think of him as God? You may believe in God, and
you may believe Jesus is God, but many Christians find it difficult
to think of him as a real person--fully human as he was fully
divine. Award-winning author Max Lucado reveals in this video Bible
study (DVD/streaming video sold separately) that in order to really
know God and understand the Gospel, it's essential that we take a
closer look at Jesus' humanity. The concept of Jesus' human and
heavenly nature is difficult to wrap our minds around. He's the God
who formed the universe and, at the same time, knows your personal
struggles...because he went through the same things. For
thirty-three years, Jesus felt everything you have ever felt.
Weakness. Weariness. Sadness. Rejection. His feet got tired. His
head ached. He was tempted and his strength was tested. The purpose
of this study is simple: by journeying through these six lessons
with a small group, you will get to know Jesus-and, therefore,
God-like you never have before. And by learning more about the
person Jesus was and is, we come to understand more clearly the
people we were created to be. The Jesus Study Guide includes: Video
teaching notes Group discussion questions and activities Bible
exploration and prayers Weekly personal study and reflection
materials. Get ready to study who Jesus was while he walked this
earth and what that means for your life today. In doing this, you
will get to know God, his purpose for you, and his love for you
like you never have before. *Designed for use with the Jesus: The
God Who Knows Your Name Video Study, available on DVD or streaming
video, sold separately.

"Korean-American Youth Identity and 9/11: An Examination of
Korean-American Ethnic Identity in Post-9/11 America" by Professor
Heerak Christian Kim of Asia Evangelical College and Seminary is a
very important book in the area of ethnic studies in post-9/11
America. Although many books have been written on 9/11, there has
not been adequate examination of its impact for particular ethnic
groups. Even scholars of ethnic studies seem to ignore 9/11 as an
event that is incidental to self-understanding and group identity
of America's ethnic groups. This book is a step in the right
direction in computing 9/11 into the study of ethnic identity and
experience in America. This book specifically focuses on
Korean-American identity, particularly in regards to
Korean-American youth. However, this scholarly examination is
further significant in its sensitivity to the ethnic experience of
other Asian-Americans and in its examination of Korean-American
identity as negotiated in the context of the larger dominant
culture of America. And this book contributes further to the
understanding of ethnic identity in the United States by devoting
an important chapter to the dynamics of inter-ethnic relations
between Korean-Americans and African-Americans. Besides being a
monumental contribution to the understanding of ethnic identity in
comparative terms, this book represents an important contribution
to Korean-American studies. This book is the most up-to-date book
on Korean-American youth identity and provides the scholarly
community with valuable information regarding which direction to
take future research regarding Korean-American identity and the
Asian-American experience in the United States. As Asian-Americans
are rising in terms of number and influence, the need for
understanding their identity becomes important on academic, social,
political, economic, and intellectual levels. This book is a very
important book to meet the rising need that has been largely
neglected in academia and in the publishing industry thus far. This
book is an essential addition to all serious university libraries,
public libraries, and private personal libraries of educated
individuals.

The Heidelberg Catechism, first approved in 1563, is a
confessional document of the Protestant movement considered one of
the most ecumenical of the confessions. Published to coincide with
the catechism's 450th anniversary, this book explores the
Heidelberg Catechism in its historical setting and emphasizes the
catechism's integration of Lutheran and Reformed traditions in all
of its major doctrines. An appendix contains a translation of the
Heidelberg Catechism recently prepared and adopted by three of the
Reformed denominations that recognize the catechism as one of their
confessions: the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Reformed Church
in America, and the Christian Reformed Church in North America.
"One of the first great events in Christian history was the Council
of Nicaea in 325 AD, convened to organize Christian sects and
beliefs into a unified doctrine. The great Christian clergymen who
wrote before this famous event are referred to as the Ante-Nicenes
and the Apostolic Fathers, and their writings are collected here in
a ten-volume set. The Ante-Nicenes lived so close to the time of
Christ that their interpretations of the New Testament are
considered more authentic than modern voices. But they are also
real and flawed men, who are more like their fellow Christians than
they are like the Apostles, making their words echo in the ears of
spiritual seekers. In Volume III of the 10-volume collected works
of the Ante-Nicenes first published between 1885 and 1896, readers
will find three of Tertullian s most famous writings. In
Apologetic, Tertullian addresses the powers that be in Rome,
demanding that Christians be accepted and tolerated by Roman law.
In Anti-Marcion, Tertullian attacks and discusses heretics. And in
Ethical he discusses a variety of moral questions."
Politicians in Washington are grappling with a soaring national
debt that threatens our status in the world and, indeed our very
future. The government funded by this debt is seen as too big and
intrusive. Yet, eighty years of liberal progressivism have left us
a nation ill prepared to face a future of less government. Even
more urgent than the massive debt accumulated over the decades are
the crumbling institutions left in the wake of the failed
experiment of socialism. Americans sense that the old social
contract of "cradle to grave" care no longer works, if it ever did.
They know that anarchy is not a replacement for big government and
are searching for a new world view. But the way forward will never
be found until we understand how our nation fits within a higher
purpose for all men and women. The Four Institutions of the
Cultural Mandate provide this understanding and clarifies what the
American people must do to secure our country's future. This book
shines a light on these institutions and provides the new world
view and the new social contract Americans are longing for.George
Radanovich was elected to Congress in 1994. He served as president
of the freshman class of the new republican majority and pressed
the need for cultural reform to accompany the reduction in the size
of government. A believer that politics and jurisprudence are
downstream from culture, The New World Order is the Old World
Order, is the culmination of his thirty-year effort to develop a
new social contract based on cultural reform. He retired from
Congress in 2011, after the tragic loss of his wife, and returned
to his hometown of Mariposa, CA, to raise their 12 year-old son,
rebuild the family vineyard and establish a foundation, The Four
Institutions, to restore the institutions of the Cultural Mandate.
