Diese Fachtagung, die von der Fachgruppe 4. 9. 1 der 01 "Hypertextsysteme" in Zusamamenarbeit mit der Deutschen Informatik Akademie und unter Mitarbeit der Fachgruppe 4. 9. 2 "Multimediale Elektron ische Dokumente" durchgefUhrt wird, bildet die konsequente FortfUhrung der Workshops aus dem Jahre 1990 in Basel (durchgefUhrt von der Schweizer In formatikgesellschaft) und in Darmstadt (durchgefUhrt von der OMD in Zusam menarbeit mit der OJ) sowie der gemeinsamen Konferenz von 01, Sl und bOl in Oraz 1991. Wahrend in den ersten drei Veranstaltungen zum Thema Hyper text!Hypermedia im deutschsprachigen Raum noch konzeptionelle Uberlegungen, Projektideen, erste spezialisierte Prototypen sowie kleine beispielhafte Anwen dungen im Vordergrund standen, stehen auf dieser Tagung vomehmlich Ergeb nisse aus den Oebieten - erste Schritte in die Praxis, - Anwendungen im Publikationswesen, - Basistechnologien sowie - vielversprechende Anwendungsgebiete der Zukunft im Zentrum des Interesses. Es zeigen sich somit deutliche Fortschritte bei der praxisnahen Umsetzung von Hypertexttechniken in bestehende und zUkiinftige Anwendungen. Betrachten wir die ersten Schritte in die Praxis, so zeigt sich, daB Hyper texttechniken heute schon in vielfaltigen Anwendungsbereichen eine wesentliche Rolle spielen.
