The Codex Amiatinus and its "Sister" Bibles examines the full
Bibles (Bibles containing every scriptural text that producers
deemed canonical) made at the northern English monastery of
Wearmouth-Jarrow under Abbot Ceolfrith (d. 716) and the Venerable
Bede (d. 735), and the religious, cultural, and intellectual
circumstances of their production. The key manuscript witness of
this monastery's Bible-making enterprise is the Codex Amiatinus, a
massive illustrated volume sent toward Rome in June 716, as a gift
to St. Peter. Amiatinus is the oldest extant, largely intact Latin
full Bible. Its survival is the critical reason that Ceolfrith's
Wearmouth-Jarrow has long been recognized as a pivotal center in
the evolution of the design, structure, and contents of medieval
biblical codices. See inside the book.

Papers collected in this volume try to illuminate various aspects
of philosophical theology dealt with by different Jewish and early
Christian authors and texts (e.g. the Acts of the Apostles, Philo,
Origen, Gregory of Nazianzus), rooted in and influenced by the
Hellenistic religious, cultural, and philosophical context, and
they also focus on the literary and cultural traditions of
Hellenized Judaism and its reception (e.g. Sibylline Oracles,
Prayer of Manasseh), including material culture ("Elephant Mosaic
Panel" from Huqoq synagogue). By studying the Hellenistic
influences on early Christianity, both in response to and in
reaction against early Hellenized Judaism, the volume intends not
only to better understand Christianity, as a religious and
historical phenomenon with a profound impact on the development of
European civilization, but also to better comprehend Hellenism and
its consequences which have often been relegated to the realm of
political history.

The Bilingual Holy Bible, English - Italian is derived from the
1901 English American Standard and 1927 Italian Riveduta Bible
translations.
Printed on white paper for easy reading, verses are paired in
classical Biblical English and Italian so both translations can be
followed sentence by sentence.
Examples:
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesi 1:1
Nel principio Iddio creo i cieli e la terra.
Psalms 23:4
Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they
comfort me.
Salmi 23:4
Quand anche camminassi nella valle dell ombra della morte, io non
temerei male alcuno, perche tu sei meco; il tuo bastone e la tua
verga son quelli che mi consolano.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal
life.
Giovanni 3:16
Poiche Iddio ha tanto amato il mondo, che ha dato il suo unigenito
Figliuolo, affinche chiunque crede in lui non perisca, ma abbia
vita eterna.
