English Description: The Castle Museum Sonderhausen has a separate funeral sermons collection from the holdings of the City and County Library. But nothing is known about the provenance of this collection of funeral sermons. It is striking that the more than fifteen hundred prints are usually not complete, but only consist of the first sheet with the title page and the arches, which include the personal histories of the deceased. Almost 97% of the 1,561 gathered in this catalog are attributed to the bourgeoisie. Leipzig, the early modern center of printing and trade, appears as the most frequent funeral and/or death location and so Leipzig theologians feature particularly frequently. The percentage of the deceased who were active in trade and commerce is significantly higher than in the previous catalogs of the Thuringen series of the Marburg research. Many of the honorees lived in the 17th Century: some funeral sermons reported meaningfully about war and its impact on the population. The Age of Confessionalization also left traces in the texts. German Description: Das Schlossmuseum Sondershausen verfugt uber eine gesonderte Leichenpredigten-Sammlung aus den Bestanden der Stadt- und Kreisbibliothek. Uber die Provenienz dieser Sammlung Leichenpredigten ist nichts bekannt. Auffallig ist, dass die mehr als funfzehnhundert Drucke in der Regel nicht vollstandig sind, sondern nur aus dem ersten Bogen mit dem Titelblatt und den Bogen bestehen, welche die Lebenslaufe der Verstorbenen umfassen. Fast 97 Prozent der in diesem Katalog versammelten 1.561 Verstorbenen sind dem Burgertum zuzurechnen. Unter den am haufigsten erscheinenden Beerdigungs- und/oder Sterbeorten uberwiegt Leipzig als fruhneuzeitliches Zentrum des Buchdrucks und -handels. Leipziger Theologen erscheinen daher besonders haufig. Der Anteil der Verstorbenen, die in Handwerk und Handel tatig waren, ist deutlich hoher als in den vorherigen thuringischen Katalogen der Reihe Marburger Personalschriften-Forschungen. Viele der Geehrten lebten im 17. Jahrhundert: Manche Leichenpredigt berichtet eindrucklich von den Kriegswirren und deren Auswirkungen auf die Bevolkerung. Das Zeitalter der Konfessionalisierung hinterliess ebenfalls Spuren in den Texten."
