A delightful tale of destiny and determination. What makes it more special is that the illustrations in the book were done by the author's six year old daughter, a first for publishing in SA and NY. See the author and daughter interview on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0xZE-Ocfrk

A wonderful story about a tortoise who discovers the sea for the first time by going on a big adventure out of curiosity when he hears the sound of the waves from a distance. It is set in a nature reserve on the west coast of South Africa. Charmingly illustrated by the author's 6 year old daughter. I would recommend this book to young readers who are a bit above "See Jane run" or as a book to be read aloud to young children.
