This book is a sequel and extension to the book "Business Process Management Cases", published in its first edition by Springer in 2018. It adds 22 new cases for practitioners and educators to showcase and study Business Process Management (BPM). The BPM cases collection is dedicated to providing a contemporary and comprehensive, industry-agnostic insight into the realities of BPM. In particular it focuses on the lessons that only authentic cases can provide. The experiences documented cover both, the positive impact of deploying BPM as well as the lessons learnt from failed attempts. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Business Process Management, BPM 2007, held in Brisbane, Australia, in September 2007. The 21 revised full papers, 1 industrial paper, and 8 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 152 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on business process maturity and performance, business process modeling, case studies, compliance and change, process configuration and execution, formal foundations of BPM, business process mining, and semantic issues in BPM.

Entsprechend den zwei Forschungsschwerpunkten der Referenzmodellierung, der Konstruktion und der Anwendung von Referenzmodellen, ist das Buch gegliedert. Im ersten Teil wird das ARIS-Konzept und die Nutzbarkeit des Ansatzes fur die Referenzmodellierung thematisiert. Der Pluralismus von Modellen wird aufgegriffen, und es wird diskutiert, wie Referenzmodelle, die unterschiedliche Zwecke erfullen sollen, zu erstellen sind. Die Multiperspektivitat von Referenzmodellen wird aus Sicht eines Tool-Herstellers eroertert. Der zweite Teil ist der Nutzung von Referenzmodellen gewidmet, worin Referenzmodelle fur Anwendungs- und fur Organisationszwecke untersucht werden. Es wird aufgezeigt, wie ein Mittelweg zwischen Standard- und Individualsoftware gestaltet werden koennte. Business Objekte als zentraler Betrachtungsgegenstand des SAP Referenzmodells werden vorgestellt und die Nutzung von Referenz-Anwendungssystemmodellen bei der Einfuhrung von Standardsoftware fokussiert.
Logistik und CIM nehmen mit unterschiedlichem Schwerpunkt die proze orientierte Gestaltung betrieblicher Abl{ufe f}r sich in Anspruch. Ziel des Buches ist es, das unkoordinierte Nebeneinander der beiden Konzepteaufzuheben und durch eine gleichzeitige und abgestimmte Betrachtung des Material- und Informationsflusses die wechselseitigen Beziehungen aufzuzeigen. Als Betrachtungsgegenstand der Logistik wird ausschlie lich der Materialflu definiert, CIM wird als Konzept derGestaltung des Informationsflusses vorgestellt. Unter Zugrundelegung einer funktional definierten Logistik werden f}r die Bereiche Beschaffung, Produktion, Distribution und Entsorgung ad{quate M-glichkeiten der informationsflu technischen Unterst}tzung der jeweils anfallenden logistischen Aufgaben dargestellt ("Logistik aus Sicht des CIM"). Das Kapitel "CIM aus Sicht der Logistik" behandelt Integrationsaufgaben im Zusammenhang mit logistischen Fragestellungen, die funktions}bergreifenden Charakter haben. Hierunter ist u.a. die logistikgerechte Gestaltung der Produktionsplanung und -steuerung, der Konstruktion, der Arbeitsplanung und der CAM-Funktionen zu verstehen. Des weiteren wird untersucht, welchen Beitrag Logistik undCIM bei der Einbindung von gruppenzentrierten Organisationsformen - sowohl in der allgemeinen Form der Fertigungsinsel als auch in der technischen Auspr{gung eines flexiblen Fertigungssystems - in das betriebliche Umfeld leisten. Insbesondere durch die Betrachtung aktueller Themen (z.B.
