(New York, NY) Dr. Howard Scheiner invites you to share his "I" ON
LIFE, as he continues his highly personal journey of life and
spirit. He offers his readers a distinctive, and even greater,
understanding of universal truth as he enlarges his vision for
happiness and a joy-filled life. Moving further than his last book,
REAWEKENING, he adds new perspective and perceptions to
self-awareness. Filled with enlightenment and wisdom, it is offered
from the same point of intersection of science and spirituality
called "belief." Through examples of his own life, readers are
again given understanding and insight into their own personal
journeys. A successful Manhattan physician, Scheiner awakes each
day happy to be alive, feeling blessed with the joys and sorrows of
his life, joyfully connected to All-That-Is and thoroughly savoring
his singular journey. "How can the heart soar in the midst of
personal struggles and a world in crisis? How can one savor
blissful delight when emotional or physical pain takes hold? The
answer is easy to state: when one recognizes that the struggles are
only illusory and that apparent crisis is a perfect backdrop that
offers opportunities for learning and growth; pain is a teaching,
and we designed the course... The seemingly impossible task is to
take the answer and believe it to be true." While most everyone has
dissatisfactions, not everyone questions, nor recognizes that there
must be a better way. He invites investment in a spiritual toolbox
and offers his tools to do just this. He again bares his soul with
a highly personal and sometimes humorous and often shocking "I" ON
LIFE, enlarging his interpretation regarding the concept of
"God/Universe."
Open your heart and mind to the wisdom of the animal world.
Animal Speak provides techniques for recognizing and interpreting
the signs and omens of nature. Meet and work with animals as totems
and spirit guides by learning the language of their behaviors
within the physical world. Animal Speak shows you how to: identify,
meet, and attune to your spirit animals; discover the power and
spiritual significance of more than 100 different animals, birds,
insects, and reptiles; call upon the protective powers of your
animal totem; and create and use five magical animal rites,
including shapeshifting and sacred dance. This beloved, bestselling
guide has become a classic reference for anyone wishing to forge a
spiritual connection with the majesty and mystery of the animal
world.
Dream Walker is a novel based upon truth. What is truth and what is
fiction for each reader will depend on how the information
resonates with his or her emotional circuitry. The characters
depicted and the situations described are a montage drawn from
actual and fictional accounts. The story is not told
chronologically; instead, it moves back and forth to different
times in the life of Roger, the main character, as a part of this
montage. It is through the description of his reactions to those
experiences that the book attempts to show how it is possible to
arrive at spiritual awareness through difficult, and sometimes even
preposterous, circumstances. This is the story of a lifetime
journey through our third dimensional physical reality on the
planet Earth. It is all part of what is called the Grand Experiment
of free choice on this beautiful blue sphere floating on the edge
of this universe. The ultimate challenge is for us to find our way
back through it all to our own spiritual selves, and who we are on
the other side of the veil. This is one person's story about his
dreams of romance and adventure through this earthly experience
that somehow leads him to his own spiritual awareness.
Many people believe they have seen ghosts, many others are
doubtful, but despite the rationalism of the present day, there has
been no decrease in the number of sightings: old ghosts have
survived for centuries and have been joined by modern ones, haunted
houses retain their eerie reputations, apparitions are studied by
parapsychologists, poltergeists still wreak havoc in homes. Ghost
Sightings is a wide-ranging guide to ghostly phenomena from all
parts of the globe up to 2015. It covers cases throughout history:
many of them famous, others less well known. It examines malign
spirits and gentle ghosts, apparitions, wraiths, haunted houses and
spooky urban myths. Each entry gives details of the date, location
and course of events, as well as providing a historical context and
analytical assessment of the phenomenon. The book's extensive
appendices provide fascinating additional information, including
the differing roles of ghosts in the world's religions, an
exploration of out-of-body and near-death experiences, and modern
theories offered to explain ghosts by figures such as Sigmund Freud
and Carl Jung. Ghost Sightings is a thorough study of a subject
that has intrigued, amazed and terrified mankind throughout
history.
Based on her personal search for life's meaning, Judy Binda's
anthropological research on spirituality led her to write this
ethnography. Without God's presence in her life, she would never
have been able to overcome the many challenges she faced in her
dual journey to grow both as a human being and a spiritual
being.
In the first part of this work, through her encounters, Judy
learns that her own spiritual path was mirrored in that of her
contributors. She engages her applied research in the second part
of her study in integrating traditional medicine and healers into
Western clinics, in order to find solutions to improve the wellness
of people and encourage Native spiritualism as a way of life. These
ethnographic studies-conducted with those who walk their Native
spiritual journey as spiritual seekers and the traditional medicine
people and healers who have the ability to heal through spiritual
guidance, traditional practices, and medicines-offer richness and
benefits for those seeking different paths to wellness.
For most of its history, contemporary Paganism has been a religion
of converts. Yet as it enters its fifth decade, it is incorporating
growing numbers of second-generation Pagans for whom Paganism is a
family tradition, not a religious worldview arrived at via a
spiritual quest. In Pagan Family Values, S. Zohreh Kermani explores
the ways in which North American Pagan families pass on their
beliefs to their children, and how the effort to socialize children
influences this new religious movement. The first ethnographic
study of the everyday lives of contemporary Pagan families, this
volume brings their experiences into conversation with contemporary
issues in American religion. Through formal interviews with Pagan
families, participant observation at various pagan events, and data
collected via online surveys, Kermani traces the ways in which
Pagan parents transmit their religious values to their children.
Rather than seeking to pass along specific religious beliefs, Pagan
parents tend to seek to instill values, such as religious tolerance
and spiritual independence, that will remain with their children
throughout their lives, regardless of these children's ultimate
religious identifications. Pagan parents tend to construct an
idealized, magical childhood for their children that mirrors their
ideal childhoods. The socialization of children thus becomes a
means by which adults construct and make meaningful their own
identities as Pagans. Kermani's meticulous fieldwork and clear,
engaging writing provide an illuminating look at parenting and
religious expression in Pagan households and at how new religions
pass on their beliefs to a new generation.
