This is a reprint of two military effects catalogs from Imperial
Germany. Historians and collectors will be amazed at what was
offered for private purchase. From medals to swords to horse
furniture to guns and spiked helmets, page after page has amazing
detail. The width of Mller and the detailed depth of Neumann make
these absolutely invaluable. Much of what is reprinted here has
never been offered before. Discoveries in the Neumann catalog have
revolutionized some thoughts about Imperial German collecting. This
is a wonderful trip to the time of Kaiser Wilhelm II before WWI,
and a must have resource.

The breech loading shotgun would have been no use without its
cartridges. Much has already been written about the histories of
shotguns, but very little about the many cartridges that were
loaded into the breeches. This book has been written as a companion
to 'Cartridges of the British Isles' [ISBN 978-1-84549-111-6]. It
covers the time from the first years in breech loading shotguns up
until the present day. It also includes some overseas cartridges as
well as many others of the British Isles not previously published.
This is, in part, a history of shotgun cartridges and it should
bring back much nostalgia to many older shooting folk. The book
also contains a section on cartridge head-stampings and includes
over two thousand examples that have been seen on cartridges
throughout the years. No shooter should be without this book on his
or her bookshelf. To the historians and the collectors of old and
new shotgun cartridges it will prove an essential reference.

THE ART OF DUELLING By "A Traveller." AN OBSCURE PRESS CLASSIC
REPRINT. This rare little book was first published in 1836. Only a
handful of the original editions remain, and are now extremely
costly. OBSCURE PRESS has republished this classic work in a high
quality, modern edition, using the original text and artwork. The
author remains unknown, but from his manner of writing and expert
knowledge of his subject was obviously a man of means well known to
the nobility of the day. His book, which "contains much information
useful to young continental tourists," deals with every aspect of
the duel. Settling a dispute by single combat was then countenanced
by law in the northern nations of Europe, among whom it was
customary to decide many controversies by arms. The book consists
of eighty pages and contains chapters on: History of the Origins of
Duelling. - The Pistol. - Charging the Pistol. - Position of
Firing. - Method of Practice. - The Chances. - The Challenge. -
Selection of a Second, and his Duties. - Precautions to be
Observed. - Some Accounts of Duels with Sword and Pistol. This is a
fascinating read for any historian of the subject or for
enthusiasts of pistol shooting and its varieties.
This book is a primer for the person who may have a passing
interest in Japanese Swords, but do not know where to start. But;
there are those that look beyond the blade to what it may have
meant to those who carried them. It revolves around five swords and
a hanging scroll that came to the United States about 1946. These
swords date from 1400 to Jan 1944. A sixth sword given to a Marine
Defender of Wake Island by the C.O. of a Japanese POW camp. Three
of these swords, have original short stories that focus on these
swords. The scroll, is a painting of a samurai sitting beneath a
Cherry tree with writing materials. The Book, has 144 pages richly
illustrated with about 110 photos, & "Care and Cleaning of
Japanese Swords". This version of the book is in Color.
