It is 2020 when a mountain of rock weighing millions of tons
hits the planet's atmosphere. As the rigid crust of the planet
gives away, a massive chain reaction of earthquakes, tidal waves,
and volcanic eruptions follows. The catastrophic event known as the
Great Crash is deadly and swift. Life on the planet will never be
the same.
Four thousand years later, nine-year-old Prince Jadan studies
the disastrous effects of the Great Crash with his tutor. As he
learns about the characteristics of Mutants and the differences
between Fusors and Cabals, he has no idea that he will soon be
putting his newfound knowledge to work. After he escapes the
marauding Mutant army that kills his father and steals his
birthright, Jadan is forced to hide in the forest where he is
taught lessons of survival from a Cabal, half-man, half-spider.
Thought dead by the rest of the world, Jadan returns as a teenager
to unite his kingdom against Mutant warlords and half-humans. But
first, he must prove himself worthy.
In this adventurous tale, not everyone believes Jadan is the
Chosen One. Left with no other options, Jadan must embark on a
dangerous quest to fulfill his destiny and claim a fabled
sword-before it is too late.
Walapai (Hualapai), a language of the Yuman group (Hokan stock), is
spoken in Northern Arizona. The volume contains texts of various
genres - mythical tales, stories from everyday life, oral histories
- which were collected by the author in the late '50s and early
'60s. As in the case of Winter's earlier publications, the texts
are presented in a morphologically analyzed form and are provided
with full translations.
From Ritual to Romance was written in 1920 by Jessie L. Weston. The
book was made famous by being mentioned by T. S. Eliot in the notes
to his poem, The Waste Land. He says, "Not only the title, but the
plan and a good deal of the incidental symbolism of the poem were
suggested by Miss Jessie L. Weston's book."The book centres on an
examination of the roots of the King Arthur legends and seeks to
make connections between the early pagan elements and the later
Christian influences. In particular, the book looks at the Holy
Grail tradition and its influence.

The traditional stories of Ireland, Scotland, Brittany and Wales
transport us to the fantastical world of Celtic folklore.
Translated and transcribed by folklorists in the late 19th and
early 20th centuries, the 16 stories in this compilation conjure
forgotten realms and rare magical creatures in vivid prose. These
timeless tales brim with wit and magic, and each one is brought to
life with elegant silhouette art by Kate Forrester in this special
illustrated edition.
Vampires are mythological or folkloric beings who subsist by
feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of
living creatures, regardless of whether they are undead or a living
person. This story begins in Rome....200BC. A Vampire named Moros
relates his tale of becoming an immortal and the life of a cursed
vampire. He also writes of a clan war which is brewing in the
cities of Rome and Athens amongst the other vampires. It is in Rome
that Moros finds his true love, an Asian princess named Meeka who
was lost in her world in the Jade Palace. Meeka's father has gone
mad and was willing to kill everyone for a son; a heir who would
find immortality thru his son. Though Meeka found solace with
Moros, their life together somehow felt incomplete. This was until
a little girl who looked to be no more than five years of age
entered their lives. While she did possess the body of an
innocent... her mind does not belong to a child. Tammy is in fact
an ancient vampire with many secrets. She tells the story of her
mother and the creation of "The curse." Her tale includes
assassins, an Egyptian princess and even a twist in time.
The Shah Nameh (The Book of Kings), The Rubaiyat, The Divan, and
The Gulistan (The Flower Garden) are amongst the greatest works of
Persia, containing some of the most beautiful, rich and diverse
language in the literary world. They rival Dante's Divine Comedy,
India's Mahabharata, Sumeria's Epic of Gilgamesh and China's Dream
of Red Mansions in their cultural impact, bringing to life the
tales, myths and philosophy of ancient and high-medieval Persia. A
fabulous concoction of verse and prose, these classical Persian
texts offer stories of creation, love, conquest and the simple joy
of life. The Flame Tree Gothic Fantasy, Classic Stories and Epic
Tales collections bring together the entire range of myth, folklore
and modern short fiction. Highlighting the roots of suspense,
supernatural, science fiction and mystery stories, the books in
Flame Tree Collections series are beautifully presented, perfect as
a gift and offer a lifetime of reading pleasure.
The Greek myths, refined by the great poets and playwrights of
Ancient Greece, distil the essence of human life: its brief span,
its pride, courage and insecurity, its anxious relationship with
the natural world - earth, sea and sky, represented by powerful
gods and monsters. Taking inspiration from the incomparably
beautiful and intense poetry of Homer, Aeschylus, Sophocles and
Euripides, Spurling - a lifelong classicist and an award-winning
playwright and historical novelist - spins five more myths for
contemporary readers. These captivating tales centre on male-female
pairs - Prometheus and Pandora, Jason and the sorceress Medea,
Oedipus and his daughter Antigone, Achilles and his mother Thetis,
Odysseus and Penelope - that destroyed dynasties, raised and felled
heroes, and sealed the fates of men.

of Big Klaus and Little Klaus" and "The Witch in the Stone Boat."
The book consists of 40-plus stories utilizing Lang's signature

Lang highlights some of the most critical stories in the children's
genre. His collections are a standard at both home and school. With

own rules...people who get special pleasure out of doing something
well, even if only for themselves...people who know there's more to
this living than meets the eye: they'll be right there with
Jonathan, flying higher and faster than they ever dreamed.

Livingston Seagull" now enjoys a whole new life.
