What is the significance of December 21, 2012? In this
groundbreaking book, Tim Lyons offers a multi-faceted answer to
that question by applying the principles of western astrology to
time measurement that the ancient Maya called the Long Count, a
period that began in 3114 BC and that ends on December 21, 2012.
Drawing on the historical studies of Lewis Mumford, Arnold Toynbee,
and others, Tim finds connections between the Mayan aeon and our
own astrological ages, uses our astrological tools to draw meaning
from the Mayan time-measurements, and demonstrates the correlations
between the Mayan measurements and the many important historical
developments from the past 5125 years. In his last chapter, Tim
casts a horoscope for the aeon beginning on the winter solstice
2012, seeking similarities and differences between that horoscope
and the one for August 11, 3114 BC. Concluding that the Long Count
horoscope symbolizes a type of social development characterized by
authoritarian militarism and leading to ecological destruction, and
showing how those tendencies have worked themselves out through
time in tandem with important transits and progressions to that
horoscope, he connects social, psychological, and spiritual
elements to give a clear diagnosis of the problems facing human
civilization. Seeing the Long Count as measuring "the era of
bigness," he suggests that the future will see the development of
smaller institutions arising as adaptations to the dominant model
that has now run its course.
Astrology is founded on the premise that the planets embody and
exemplify archetypal concepts. The gods themselves, for whom the
planets are named, were projections of human qualities onto
deities. Each planet's perspective includes its moons or asteroid
companions. Why should we study astrology from each planet's
perspective? . To find direct expressions of each planet at your
time of birth . To distance personal ego from the equation . To
appreciate your own planet-centered charts . To discover clear
choices/alternatives that have been there all your life . To become
acquainted with energy allies for personal growth and spiritual
understanding . To amplify your understanding of the diversity of
planetary perspectives . To explore Unity of multiple energies
entering your awareness With planet-centered alternatives you may
adopt a transpersonal perspective and transcend the limitations of
personal biases to embrace your greater potential.
Personal Prediction combines two astrological life cycles; the
annual solar cycle of the Sun and the progression of the Solar
Return chart's MC position between successive Solar Returns. The
interworkings of these two cycles identify the twenty or more power
days in each Solar Return annual period that mark the significant
events that occur in our life. Personal Prediction illustrates the
methodology of these cycles, their charting, and interpretation.
Software is freely available to download and use to illustrate
these cycles and key dates and to print the charts. Professional,
home-based, research, writers and early-studies astrologers can
quickly learn and apply this exciting and unique combination of
established astrological components.

Were the individuals who died on September 11, 2001 destined to die
that day? In 1927, Thorton Wilder published a novel, The Bridge of
San Luis Rey, that tells the story of the individuals who perished
in the collapse of a rope bridge in the Andes mountain ranges of
Peru. In that narrative, Brother Juniper, a Franciscan monk,
embarks on a quest to find a cosmic answer to the question why
those specific individuals died that day when the bridge collapsed.
Hundreds of people crossed the bridge every day. Why were these
individuals crossing the bridge at the exact moment when the bridge
collapsed? The philosophical questions Wilder asks in his work of
fiction are the same ones contemplated with anguish almost three
quarters of a century later. Why did those specific passengers and
crewmembers board those specific planes? Why were those 125
individuals at the Pentagon in those specific offices that morning?
Why were the individuals at the World Trade Center there on that
Tuesday-and not anywhere else? Why were so many first responders
trapped at the site that would henceforth be known as Ground Zero?
Was it in the stars? In The Bridge of San Luis Rey, Wilder
concludes that "there is a land of the living and a land of the
dead and the bridge is love, the only survival, the only meaning."
Perhaps the same can be said of the events of September 11, 2001.
This book includes the names and birth dates of all who died in the
terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Aspects to Horoscope Angles focuses on the influence of the planets
in aspect to three of the angles of the horoscope: the Midheaven,
the Ascendant, and the Vertex. Included is delineation of the
planets in aspect to the Midheaven and Ascendant. The author also
emphasizes the use of the angles in the rectification of a birth
time. Numerous examples illustrate the principles of planets in
aspect to the angles, as well as rectification using the charts of
former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and well-known
astrologer L. Edward Johndro.
We are increasingly brought face to face with the fact that
everything is interconnected. Astrology has long recognised this
basic inter-connectedness, and indeed provides the mechanism of the
birth chart, enabling some understanding of that relationship
between the individual person and the collective whole. The
'timing' system of Age Progression through the Life Clock is
perhaps the most sophisticated astrological approach to
understanding the psychologically significant life experiences that
are reflected in the birth chart. It was developed after extensive
research by Swiss astrologer/psychologists Bruno & Louise
Huber. You can use Age Progression to seek meaning in the jumble of
events in your life. It can show what sort of influences are likely
to be at work at different stages of this particular lifetime. As
you give meaning to particular times of your life, you tell stories
of how things are and how they might be. Naturally this helps in
navigating your way forwards through life. Of course, you can use
Age Progression in consultation with a friend or client. Many
practitioners regard it as a 'gilt edged' technique saving many
hours of counselling. In this book, Joyce Hopewell explores the
different facets of Age Progression, illuminated by extensive
examples, to help you to understand how to apply it to yourself and
to helping others.
