John D. Grove has spent many years in two worlds - the practical world of professional psychotherapy based on Jungian theory, contrasted with his ongoing more private interest in the world of astrological psychology. Dreams and Astrological Psychology presents his reconciliation of these driving forces in his life. John highlights the profound predicament we in the Western world are in, reflecting the unbalanced state of our own egos. Jungian understanding of the psyche points the way forward, and John suggests that we can each become our own psychologist to begin to understand the puzzle of our own psychic existence. Our dreams and our astrological chart provide keys that help us to unlock this puzzle and realize our true potential as psychologically healthy and balanced individuals, thus raising the level of our collective experience.

A book for astrology's future. A fresh approach to cycles that acknowledges the subtler, background energy at work in our evolving lives. The Western equivalent of Vedic planetary periods There is a lingering effect of the transmissions from the outer three planets that the personality must incorporate, develop and evolve over a span of time or Resonance Phase. This evolution takes longer than the actual ending of the mathematical transit as we know it. Time is a continuum and your natal chart resonates with the past as well as the future. Numerical links (by degree) in every chart correspond to both the past and to the future - a continuum of energy reaching backwards and forwards in time, to which we are always responding on subtler, background levels.
Long out of print and hard to find, this is the most celebrated book on eclipses of the last seventy years. In this book, learn the unique astronomical factors that create eclipses and why some eclipses are total while others are not. Learn how the Chaldeans discovered the Saros cycle in the sixth century BC, which is still in use today. Learn how the Greeks discovered the Metonic cycle. Find out how the Saros cycle is used in forecasting the effects of eclipses. Jansky gives the astrological key for all 19 of the Saros series. The author uses his understanding of eclipse mechanics in analysis. He uses the twelve houses of the chart, planets conjunct and opposed, the Saros series, fixed stars conjunct the eclipse as well as stars rising or setting on the horizon (ascendant/descendant), the planetary ruler, and the path of the Moon's shadow (the umbra) as it races across the earth during the eclipse itself. Jansky's interpretation of eclipses is rooted in Transactional Analysis (what I do to you becomes what you do to me, etc.), which, astrologically, is the study of polarities, which is what lunar and solar eclipses literally represent, and how these polarities, expressed as opposing signs and houses, can be resolved in terms of human relationships. Jansky delves into the astrological duration of an eclipse, prenatal eclipses, eclipses in rectification and eclipses and health. For case studies he tells of an eclipse-driven corporate crisis at his employer and how it impacted him, his fellow employees, and the management. In the data section, solar eclipses for the 20th century: Date, degree of the zodiac, total, partial or annular, and the Saros number. Also, longitudes of major fixed stars and general and medical bibliographies. A comprehensive book on eclipses. A must-have.

Relationships: lovers, partners, romantic interests. Each is represented by one of the houses of the horoscope and its ruling planets. In Relationships, Helen Adams Garrett explains what to look for in the progressed, natal, and transit horoscopes for insights into romance, partners, sex, types, and what the self seeks. She also addresses the importance of Mars and Mercury, and the Nodes and karma, concluding with a portrait of the ideal companion. Love, like, and lust are defined and differentiated. Specifics regarding marriage and divorce are also included in Relationships, with examples of both and the wedding chart. The author explains how to spot potential and actual stressors and danger signals in the marriage through progressions and transits in the wedding chart. Examples include Joan and Ted Kennedy, and the culmination of another marriage, where charts are delineated for the wedding and the filing and granting of divorce.
This is the first English translation of Book III of Hephaistion of Thebes' Apotelesmatics, which focuses on inceptions or elections, event charts, thought-interpretation, and inquiries of many types. This 5th Century AD work explores everything from general principles of elections, to finding and identifying thieves, predicting the course of illness, analyzing general thoughts and plans, consecrating statues, and more. Throughout, Hephaistion includes lengthy and valuable quotations from Dorotheus of Sidon, one of our only ancient sources for these authentic Greek verses. Translated by Eduardo J. Gramaglia, and edited and introduced by Dr. Benjamin N. Dykes, it serves practicing astrologers and scholars of the Hellenistic, medieval, and modern traditions in astrology.
Suzan Donleavy's The Whirling Winds: Suffering and Transcendence in the Movement of Energy reports the findings of a study which presents new and important astrological information. It is believed that knowledge of the movement of energy illustrated by the "Whirling Winds" motif was once known, and has been lost for millennia. Its rediscovery offers us the possibility of considering our lives from a new perspective, a perspective closer to an objective view of reality. In addition to providing a broader intellectual viewpoint, understanding the inexorable movement of energy described in The Whirling Winds can free us from what is often most painful within the sphere of personal relationships: the turning wheel of attraction and repulsion. This understanding can also help us to appreciate our waxing and waning physical, mental, and emotional energy levels. The Whirling Winds offers readers a method for identifying the sensation of lunar and solar transits and for verifying the results of the study for themselves, and in their own lives. The organic understanding that we are all participants in a greater cosmic-environmental system may provoke a deeper questioning about our role in this large-scale energy exchange. And these questions can be a real starting point for a new level of exploration.
Lifesurfing offers a fresh approach to star-sign forecasting - designed for the worldly, intelligent and busy woman and man, and offering succinct and witty overviews of each month of 2014. We all know there's no substitute for a sharp sense of timing to get what you want or need. So think of this book as your very own PA-cum-stage director, offering you the best timely cues to raise your game professionally, romantically, socially and financially. Surf the right moments in life and suddenly all the challenges and obstacles become that little bit easier to navigate. Victor Olliver is one of the UK's leading media and consultant astrologers with a weekly star-signs column in the legendary The Lady magazine and a weekly astrology segment on global radio Apple-FM. Rachel Johnson in The Mail on Sunday profiled his work in 2012. And his many accurate forecasts include the outcome of the US presidential and London mayoral elections in 2012 as well as the safe landing and success of NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity. Victor says: "I wrote Lifesurfing for people who are both playful and ambitious, who don't take everything they read and hear as gospel, but who judge things for themselves and can discriminate. Even to the sceptic I would say: 'Put astrology to the test for a year and see for yourself how it identifies the right moments to strike.'" He adds: "To underline the fact that Lifesurfing takes a fresh approach, I asked for a book cover that does not feature stars, constellations, horoscope wheels and glyphs or mediaeval artwork featuring naked stone virgins." Molly Parkin, who writes the foreword as a fervent follower of astrology, is one of the world's leading style icons and a celebrated painter, poet, novelist and TV talking head. As fashion editor of Nova, Harpers & Queen and The Sunday Times she pioneered cutting-edge boho looks before producing a series of erotic fiction bestsellers in the '70s and '80s. In May 2012 she was awarded a Civil List Pension by the Queen for her services to the arts. Work is in progress to stage a musical and produce a movie of her extraordinary life. This is one of the most sophisticated medical astrology books ever written. Many of the finer points are dealt with. You know the head is ruled by Aries, but did you know the nasal bones are co-ruled by Scorpio? There are references to Vedic principles. A helpful diagram explains the subtle division of the urinary tract between Libra and Scorpio. Rulerships are given not only for areas of the body and its organs, but also for bones, muscles, arteries and veins. Terminology in the book is modern. Gemini's rulership of muscles includes the deltoid, biceps, supinator radii, subclavians, triceps, serratus anticus minor, pectoralis, palmaris, etc. Many chapters are unique, such as Chapter 5, on crystallization, and Chapter 6, on tonicity, atonicity, and perversion. This chapter also tells how pairs of planets mirror each other: Sun/Moon, Mars/Saturn, Jupiter/Venus, Uranus/Neptune, with Mercury as a receiver. Chapter 11 concerns many different kinds of planetary strengths, among them, aspect strength, mundane strength, natural strength (the planet in its natal sign) and directional strength. Chapter 13 gives astrological indicators for some specific diseases, a foretaste of what Charles Carter would expand upon in his famous Encyclopaedia of Psychological Astrology. This book was originally published as Alan Leo's Astrological Manual No. 9 in 1908. This is the second edition of 1914. There are references in this book to other books in the Alan Leo series, dealing with chart construction. This book is highly recommended by H.L. Cornell in his Encyclopaedia of Medical Astrology. Heinrich Daath's Medical Astrology is part of a comprehensive series of classic astro-medical texts published by Astrology Classics. Other books in the series include: - Joseph Blagrave: Astrological Practice of Physick, 1671 C.E.O. Carter: An Encyclopaedia of Psychological Astrology, 1954 H.L. Cornell: Encyclopaedia of Medical Astrology, 1933 Nicholas Culpeper: Astrological Judgement of Diseases from the Decumbiture of the Sick, 1655, and, Urinalia, 1658 Richard Saunders: The Astrological Judgement and Practice of Physick, 1677 Luke Broughton: The Elements of Astrology, 1898
