A tale of deep, dark, deception and despair!
This was the first time that I had read an Adele Parks novel. What a page-turner a tale of deep, dark, deception and despair!
We are introduced to Simon and Daisy, seemingly very happily married, especially when they had their daughter, Millie, after several failed IVF attempts.
Their life was complete, wasn’t it? They had a wonderful group of friends who they’d known since university days. However, Simon’s excessive drinking started to impact is evident on everyone and was especially heartbreaking for Daisy, a Primary Teacher. Imagine the stress for her, struggling to combine her professional and personal lives.
As the situation of Simon’s alcohol addiction spirals downwards, a shocking event takes place, and things come to a climax!
There are secrets galore amongst all the group, so very cleverly woven together, hence “Lies Lies Lies” were in abundance! The author tackles the sensitive subject of addiction in such a delicate way, highlighting the issues facing the addict and their loved ones. Adele Parks has thoroughly researched such a complicated topic so that I was riveted from start to finish!
Galadriel.
