One viable method of bringing about international co-operation is
through the harmonisation of laws. This study is an attempt to put
in focus the idea of harmonisation and its current state in Africa.
Chapters deal with the nature and history of Private International
Law; the institutions or bodies involved in the harmonisation
process in Africa; the African Treaty; and relations between the
African Economic Community and the African regional communities.
