A Deck very close to my Heart

Before I purchased this deck, I watched many YouTube reviews and read many online reviews as well. I couldn’t wait to see what it would like like…the anticipation drove me nuts!! However, one thing I noticed from a couple of reviews were how they didn’t like the big box – details in a minute- and how the new look wasn’t their thing. Another thing I picked up was how people started slashing Colette Baron-Reid of how she isn’t a shaman, but claims to be.
Now, you see…this happens when one doesn’t do your own research and listen to other people’s comments etc. After I’ve done my own research to find out what the upset was about, I realized that majority of people don’t listen and nor do they read correctly.
Colette Baron-Reid never claimed she was a shaman. In fact, she isn’t. She did however collaborate with Marcela Lobos and Alberto Villoldo. These two people have worked with shamans. In fact, their Bio is at the back of the booklet which you can read yourself. Colette is a respected international spiritual intuitive, psychic medium, educator, and oracle expert. With this specific deck, her intuition was guided to work with Marcela and Alberto. You can read it up for yourself. So, I just wanted to get that out of the way, since so many people started slashing Colette falsely just because they don’t read and listen correctly.
Also, there was much debate about why she decided to design a shaman deck etc. One thing about life is that you are required to be open-minded, you need to grow, evolve and expand with life or else you will stay stuck in your own rut. When an oracle expert decides to move out of her own comfort zone and bring forth something completely different, approach it with an open mind. Test the waters for a year or so. Be open-minded and invite different energies into your life without judgment.
Back to the deck…
The box is quite large. A5 size. A sleeve covers the box which is nice. It can become annoying to remove the sleeve every time I want to use the deck, however it’s too pretty to throw away!
The box has a magnet on the side. It opens side-ways. Fancy indeed. A nice sturdy box and big.
The booklet I love as it’s a decent A5 size. Not your usual small pocket size booklets. Again, a ribbon is attached to pull and your booklet and deck pops out easily. Since Hay House really brought out their big guns with this fancy design, I would’ve loved to see the booklet inside in color. It would’ve been something totally different and fresh. Yet I know color printing is crazy expensive.
Then inside of the big box you find your deck in its usual box. A box in a box kind of setup. Many people I’ve seen throw away the bigger box as it’s bulky. I couldn’t do that…I love the whole package as is.
The small deck box is the usual Hay House excellent quality. The cards – the artwork. Again, one million stars to Jena DellaGrottaglia – the artist.
This just brings me to one disappointing factor. Again, as the Animal spirit oracle deck of Collete, I love the ‘Matt’ look, but the card stock is not great quality. As if you need to shuffle it carefully or it will damage. Again, with this deck, I almost felt like laminating the cards, just to protect it, but then I’ll lose the small box which I don’t want to lose. I’m not sure why they opted for a lesser quality flimsier card stock. For such excellent and beautiful cards, I would’ve preferred the sturdiness of her other cards. Yet again, this does not cause me to give the review less than five stars.
As I have experience with plant medicines, Ayahuasca, being in the presence and receiving healing from a shaman from the Huin Kuin tribe, had my Akashic Records done and the list grows, I completely connect, align and understand the energy of this deck. If you have any experience of the above, you’ll know what I’m referring to. If you haven’t had any experience with the above, then the energy may feel strange to you, confusion may take its toll or you may feel the deck doesn’t work for you. Being in contact with Animal communication, Ayahuasca and Dieta ceremonies, Sweat Lodges, San Pedro etc., this is the first of its kind of a deck and I’m so thankful to all the collaborators.
This is such a special deck, close to my heart.
