Roger Dellar is a studio and plein air painter in oils who is a member of the ROI, the RI, the Pastel Society and the Wapping Group. In this 105 minute instructional DVD, Roger teaches you how to simplify complex scenes into simpler, more manageable compositions in order to catch the essence of a view before the light changes. He also imparts advice on a simplified oil palette which is sufficiently versatile for landscape or cityscape painting. The viewer follows Roger through a number of projects in the South of England, as he paints on location in Portsmouth, Chichester and Midhurst, producing a series of sketches which could be used as the basis of a larger project back in the studio.
