The Key is a short play about a girl who is lost in Christ, and
through the testimonies of her cousin she starts to seek answers to
why her cousin stays in a marriage that is abusive. Shortly after
seeking answers about her cousin, she finds herself seeking
salvation for herself. Kelly is brought to salvation through her
own struggles in life and the need for change of her own ways.
After accepting Christ into her own heart, Kelly starts praying for
the salvation of two of the people she loved the most (her
parents). Kelly prays for their salvation and through a dream,
Christ lets her know that they will be alright. Soon after, both
parents are saved, and God once again intervenes by answering the
prayers of a family who once was lost but now is found.
The Key also has several of the author's poems, some of which
have won awards in the late eighties and early nineties, and
published in anthologies.
