This book is a further collection of poems written by Arthur
Dunkley. In this volume the emphasis is on the genre of
'Veldsinger' poetry, originally introduced in his previously
published poetry collection called 'Seventy'. Poetic eulogy of the
landscape of any nation occurs all over the world, in both writing
and song. In this case the landscape and life of southern Africa is
the subject material, the word 'veld' being widely used for much of
the wild, open habitat of many of the countries in this region.
There are plenty of 'other' kinds of poems in the collection to
give the anthology a breadth of subject material and interest.
