Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - The Laughing Man (English, Japanese, Blu-ray disc)

Compilation of stories that make up 'The Laughing Man' plot of 'Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex'. Six years before Major Kusanagi (voice of Atsuko Tanaka) and Section 9's current exploits, the president of a massively successful micro machine company was kidnapped and ransomed in what came to be known as the Laughing Man incident. Now, the detective responsible for the continued investigation contacts Section 9, wishing to meet with Togusa (Koichi Yamadera) and hand over crucial information. Almost immediately, he is killed in an accident. Shortly afterwards, a police press conference is hijacked by the Laughing Man (Yamadera) who announces his return.

Good way to own most of the first SAC season!

This blu-ray contains all the laughing man episodes of the first season of Stand Alone Complex, except its been edited to feel like a movie. After watching it twice now it's pretty seamless in how it plays and the Laughing Man story is very solid overall! The only difference between this blu-ray and the original season is that they replaced the original English voice cast with new actors. The new actors do an okay job overall and after about 20 minutes of watching, it didn't really bother me anymore. That's the only thing that may turn off fans of the show, but otherwise, this is a pretty cheap and easy way to own most of the first season physically! Recommend it overall to fans!
