Some of the images within Concentric Penumbras of the Heart are
recognizable by most of us - an older sister leaving home, a
marriage proposal refused, a great-grandmother's long lost eyelash.
Others, however, are much less recognizable (for some of us) - a
peregrine's yearning, an alley rat mourning, a bear in heavy fur
keeping a promise - and, throughout this collection is the
interwoven presence of long sad sighs from our harbingers. Come,
join me within this sigh upon an out breath - it includes ill-lit
rooms, hidden melodies, daydreams of wild orchids beside emerald
lakes, even an immortal's kiss - join me as one within our
differences, as a single vibrant out breath from within the fierce
and wicked funhouse of poetry.
